The switch is a safety circuit breaker, it trips when excessive draw is detected by the heating element or the dryer drum motor, it can also be tripped if the dryer vent tube is blocked with link, so clean the 1st and see if it helps, if not replace the switch, if it still pops u will need a new heating element most likely.

Hi I bought a toaster oven on clearance a while back it worked once and now i can see the heating elements turn red for a minute then shut off not heating oven. Oven brand new out of box can not...

You must have to open it to check.
If it has two elements and both don't work then try to check the fuse using DMM.Also check the relay which drives the two elements that its making clicking noise or just use DMM to check the volatage at the relay.
Wire goes from relay to element has 120V ac
Wire goes from relay to mechanical switch ot thermostat has around 12-24 volts. dc
Thanks

I have a Bosch nextt 500 series dryer and after 2 years of use the problem I have is the heat will shut off and the dryer will keep running and I have to press the reset button on the backside of the dryer

Open the front panel, remove heat exchanger and clean. also clean out lint tray. this might help a little. Now lets check if the thermal sensor or heating element needs to be replaced.
Unplug the dryer. remove the panel in the back of the dryer that covers the heating element. ( the inner panel). On top of the heating element you will see a thermal sensor with a small red button on it. Thats the manual reset button. To test if the heating element is working properly you can disconnect the wires from the sensor and clip the connectors together . Plug the dryer back in and start it. pay attention to the heating element. It should begin to glow shortly. if it doesn't then your heating element is bad and needs to be replaced.

Unplug the dryer. Connect the wires back to the thermal sensor. Plug the dryer back in. Before you start the dryer, press the red button on the thermal sensor. Start the dryer. If the heating element doesn't come on and dryer doesn't heat, then you need to replace that sensor.

Red reset button keeps kicking out, i reset button and works fine for a day or two then kicks out again

The reset button kicks out because the thermostat detects overheating.
Anything over 150 degrees, the reset kicks out.

This is caused by 4 things.
1) Bad upper or lower thermostat. Thermostat sticking in 'on' position and elements overheating water.
2) Factory-installed insulation and cover are removed
3) Bad element shorted to ground at center of element, and element continues heating with 120V through the ground wire.
4) Loose wire near upper thermostat, that is shorting and causing heat.

Solution:
Check for missing insulation.
Check for loose and burned wires.
Replace both upper and lower thermostat.

If problems continue, test water heater elements and replace bad element.

Doesn't heat, and I have replaced the heating element.

You need to know that you have 230 volts at the outlet. Believe it or not an electric dryer will run with only 110 volts going to it but it takes 230 volts to operate the heating element. I can't tell you how many service calls I've been on when the problem was not in the dryer at all but in the breaker or outlet. If you know that there is good voltage at the outlet you could have a problem in a thermal or thermostat. Some models have a manual reset click on switch on the housing that holds the heating element. It usually looks like a small red button that has to be pushed or reset if your dryer has overheated for some reason. Sometimes when the heating element goes out it causes this to trip.

Turbo chef is not heating up, coming up on it reads, f8 low heat

the problem with f8 like you have said LOW HEAT
, IF the oven does not warm up in time , which is usually 8 min , it goes into f8 fault code
now please check the hi limit button , on the back of the oven , left hand side, bottom corner, if it reset and starts heating, please check bottom element and temp reading IR , IF it rises very quickly and the elemnt is glowing red , please switch off the unit at the power point , you have problem with the solid state relay, if the temp is slowly rising , then you might only have an issue with the hi limit reset button thermostat, FIRST JUST CHECK THE RESET BUTTON

My doesnt get hot do i need to replace element took back cover of noticed reset button on element box was kicked do i need to replace element and re set switch to

Hi!!

Before spending money on another heating element, clean filter, vents and exhaust pipe (take it off and check both, the pipe and inside the dryer). A restricted hot air passage will make the heating elements thermal protection (reset switch) to activate.

Once unclogged, press the reset button and try again.

Good luck!!

Fan running constantly in the house

Check t-stat and make sure fan is set to "Auto", that might be why fan is running all the time, or it could be a fan relay that is stuck closed. It sounds like you A/C is over charged or you have a bad high pressure switch, this was a common problem with this manufacture especially in the heat mode.

No Heat

I disagree... I think its the thermostat reset switch. A little red button once you open up the machine. look towards the front of the boiler and bush the button. Same thing happened to my Rancilio Silvia.... I opened it up, hit the reset switch... and voila! Working again! Here's the YouTube Video on the details. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQdJNm9RV68
