From what I've found in researching this problem you have a power supply problem. Are they 4 single beeps? What happens after the beeps? Do you have a manual? You might call the manufacture for support even if it costs you a bit. Something like this isn't easy to diagnose without more information. This isn't a solution, but it's all I can give you.

4 beeps on startup is a RAM error. Locate the ram stick(s), remove and re-seat them. Make sure you do this with the machine powered off and the battery removed!!!

My Macbook Air made "beep

The bios on the machine hardware has failed to book.
You could try plugging in machine and ensure battery is charged.
Press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds.
also the other thing is to immediately after you press the power button.
hold these 4 keys at same time continuously - cmd, alt, P, R
hopefully machine will power up and down and up again if you keep holding them.

Imedia 5800 RW beeps at startup

If you go to the computer or motherboard's web site you should be able to find a key describing what the beeps mean.

1 beep = start
3 beeps = no keyboard detected
etc. (I made these up - they may vary from machine to machine.

No startup, just a continous 2second beep

This means that something has gone bad...

The RAM failing in most machines is a consistent BEEP BEEP BEEP, but shorter than two seconds. This could be RAM, could be something else. I recommend having it physically checked out. Office Depot is offering free checkups for back to school, if you bring it in they will tell you what is wrong for free, then you can post again and get instructions as to where to buy the proper part and/or how to install it.

Hope this helps!!

Gateway c140 beeps

If you have an AMI bios (you can tell when you boot and the black screen has writing on it at startup - the bios type and version is the first thing at the top of the screen)
1 long and 3 short beeps indicates that the memory is not seated properly. You should check that it is secure on your motherboard. If it is seated securely, your memory is maybe faulty.
