Why is my True THAC-48 unit is not cooling?

need more info. is the condensor fan running? if not thermostat problem.if it is , is the compressor running or just makes a one time click a few seconds after plugged in? (after unplugged five minutes)... if this is the case it probably needs a new start capacitor (170 uf)..if the compressor is running the larger tube going in the commpressor should be cool about 40-50 after a few minutes .. if not then it is low on refrigerant..R-134 after 1995. or R-12 for older models.. now you also have inside fans and thermo buttons that can not be working.

My refrigerator is a Kitchenaid KSRG25FKSS05 and still runs but not cooling. I hear some kind of relay click and then click again after about 10 seconds. Then I don't hear it click again for a few minutes....

refergerant is not causing this problem. when the comp starts up and the bottom fan also starts up and the fan in the freezer comes on / this alll happens whe the cold control said we need more cold . so it sounds like the one that won't come on is the comp . and the clicking noise is the thermal control shutting down. then when cooling tryes to restart. . the kit you need is 8201786 this is called a start device and comes with instructions .. cost about $70.00 . easy to install . mm hope this helped and thanks for the model # .. and for ysing fix ya ..mm feed back pls

Unit cools for a few minutes then stops cooling. Even fan stops blowing air but the unit remains 'on'

unit may be short of gas. will run for a few mins before low pressure switch turns the compressor off. you will need to get an engineer to check gas pressure

Clicking from underneath

you need a new relay and overload on the com pressor
goto www3.sears.com type in your model number
look for compressor or controls
on the compressor itself you will see the overload box
you might need both the relay and overload id replace both anyway

Need to have someone with multimeter check the compressor and the capacitor. May be the start capacitor not allowing the compressor to run or continue running. Let me know, Sea Breeze

INTERMINENT BUZZING NOT COOLING

from your description it sounds as if the compressor is not starting up. the buzzing noise usually occurs approx. ever 3-5 minutes and is followed by a click. this indicates either a bad start relay or a stuck compressor. and from the model you listed it is most likely the compressor. if the unit is under 5 yrs old it should still be in warranty thru sears.
Thanks for using FixYa Peyton

Refrigerator and freezer not cooling properly

you have a deffective compressor the humming that your hearing or the clicking is the relay on the compressor trying to start the unit, the compressor is stuck and cannot start, leaving it unplugged lets the compressor cool down, but as it tries to recool the unit it gets orerheaated again, thus the bad compressor
