Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

3 Answers

I dropped my iphone on the ground, it was a mild drop not a very harsh one but my phone battery was almost finished at that time, the red part of the battery was visible for quite sometime. the phone seemed stuck and menu was not visible and only message was visible, i try to send a message to my husband and the msg. sending failed. so i left it for a little while and found it working so i resent the msg. again and it worked. so i kept it on charging and heard strange sounds from inside, sort of buzzing sound. after half an hour of charging i checked my phone and found it not working. i think it is not charging at all and when i charge it i have noticed that the chargers light turns off, the same charger shows the light on, when i charge my ipod.

When you ipod was dropped the charging point on your ipod became intermittent. For your information your chargers light wents off because it gets a DC voltage back from the charging unit ie your ipod. I will recommend you not (R) not to try to charge your ipod until you have replaced the charging point on your ipod. Take it to a repair shop and get your charging point replaced. Before taking that to repair shop i would suggest you to borrow a charged battery from your friend of the same type and try to switch on your ipod if the ipod is switching on then only go for replacement or else the suspected fault is that the main pcb of your ipod has gone bad and replacing that would be beyond economical repairs (more than 50% cost of a new unit)

Restart iPhone

Sometimes all it takes is a restart for the iPhone to become responsive again. To restart your iPhone when it is unresponsive, press and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons until the Apple logo appears (~10 seconds).

Very low battery

It is possible for an iPhone to become unresponsive if the battery drops to an extremely low level. Plug the iPhone into your computer or wall charger and allow it to charge for at least 20 minutes before using it again.

The iPhone 4 has a well-documented issue regarding its antenna case design that could cause someone to drop a call if they hold the iPhone in a certain way. This problem lies in the design of the phone's hardware, and can not be fixed with any software updates or new parts. There are two solutions to this problem; you may:
  • follow Apple's advice, and not hold the phone in such a way that alters the reception, or
  • put a cover on your iPhone.

Dirty antenna grounds

If your iPhone has been disassembled before, it's possible that finger oils were left on the grounding locations for the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth antennas. These oils will cause grounding issues for the antennas, which could lead to a weak signal or no connectivity at all. Be sure to clean all grounding points with an electronics cleaning solution before reassembling your iPhone to prevent grounding issues.
God bless you

My phones charge finish quickly. Why

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

You have been dropping your phone so hard that the body cracked. With your second dropping, the circuits may have got disconnected. Take it to your service centre to get it going.

I dropped my iPhone today - wont charge

After you dropped your iPhone I assume the battery connector to *********** board has moved.  Now you have to open your iPhone which follow link tells you very simply how to do it. and put the connector in to right spot.  Do not be afraid, it is not that difficult to do it but make sure you have the proper tools. I have finished to do that and my iPhone is completely fine.
Good luck!!!

I hear an Echo when I'm using my Iphone

One of the PC magazines did an extensive drop test on the iPhone without breaking it, so your dropping it on the carpet didn't cause the problem. Echos can be caused by communication with the cellular network, so you should verify the problem by trying the phone in your local ATT/Cingular store. You may also experience a time delay that you will notice if you call another phone close by where you can hear the live voice as well as the one on the phone. Both of these problems are found in all cell phones, not just iPhone, BTW.
