Ask your cable operator to increase the gain at the booster. change the cable if possible, do not tap the wire in between. use distributor box wherevr required. and dont forget to write whether your problem resolved or not..

Very poor picture quality on LG 42" SMART TV 18 months old

This is probably due to poor quality cable or connections from the aerial. Digital TV needs better quality in both (F connectors and quad shield cable) than analogue TV did.

If all that is good then you may need a better aerial or even a signal amp.

I have a SAMSUNG 58" 1080p Plasma HDTV FP-T5884. I can still switch the TV on but the screen shows pink bars no mater which source is selected. This video from a guy on youtube shows exactly the same on...

That is a typical case of poor/weak signal getting to the display via the FFC, either is a poor (or NO) contact problem, or a defective FFC.Look for the Flat Film Cable looking similar to the one in the picture, and make sure no pinching/broken traces. And/or confirm the conection at each side. Good Luck!

I have a new sony bravia 32 inches lcd tv, when it is connected to an out door antenna the picture quality is poor but it is good older model tvs

Newer sets are a lot more picky about the signal and will show all kinds of noise etc---even on cable a number of the older sets have a better picture.

My sharp tv model 20V L80M always damage the str g5653!

If your SMPS IC is getting damaged all the time , you can easily source an universal SMPS unit with the required + B voltages to power your TV and this will be more reliable and will not fail as the circuit is much stable.
The failure of the STR is due to poor feedback, poor components int this section or the SM oscillations, or a faulty SM transformer.

I can get composite video signal from coby dvd, but the component video shows no picture. Audio is OK. What could be the problem.

Hello,

Are you using component video cables for the component outputs on your tv? Plugging composite cables into component output generally will produce poor if any video.

Also, check the back of your dvd player to see if you need to flip a switch to enable component video output. Good luck.

Poor Picture Quality

Try another cable box on the TV. I have seen these fail and cause problems. If the TV is okay with a DVD player, and not good on the cable service, most likely the fault is with the cable box, or the HDMI input circuit in the TV.

With the process if elimination it is possible to functionally work out where the defect is.
It is possible to have any TV fail. Both new and old sets can fail. Naturally, the older the set the greater the chance of failure, and reliability decreases with age and or use.

Try changing the cable to another connector. If picture is still poor, try changing the cable for a new one. Also verify that the sky unit is giving a good picture by connecting it to another TV and see if picture is clear.

You could also verify the connections on the TV by inputting video from another source such as VCR or video camera.

Poor reception

It sounds like a problem with the tuner in the TV set. Hook up a VCR through the video inputs and hook the cable through the VCR and if the picture is still snowy, the problem is the cable. If the picture is clear, the problem is the tuner in the TV set. If you wanted, you could simply leave the VCR attached to the TV set and change cable channels through the VCR, or have the TV serviced. Good Luck
