Hi, my name is John. Check your antenna that it is getting a good connection, and that it is grounded. Turn your RF GAIN to MAX. Turn squelch all the way to the left. To hear Weather, Press the Weather button. hope this was very helpful.....rate this solution on the four thumbs-up.....John

Yaesu 3100 transmit problems

There are several reasons you may not be able to transmit with the FTM-3100R:

1) Your antenna is not matched to the frequency of use and presents a high SWR. The 3100 protects itself from high SWR by refusing to transmit
2) You have somehow enabled the busy-channel-lockout feature in the setup menu, and you are operating with an open squelch
3) Your DC power supply voltage is too low to support transmit current
4) You are transmitting with too low a power setting and the receiver cannot hear you
5) You are attempting to transmit to a repeater that uses a CTCSS squelch tone, and you do not have the proper squelch tone configured

Both of the LEDs to the left of the display should turn red to indicate you are transmitting. If both LEDs turn red, your problem is likely either #4 or #5.

Problem no squelch noise or speaker like its muted, but can hear weather ok shows receiving and ant ok

Since the radio cannot transmit on Weather bands, there is no need for the radio to detect if it is transmitting when receiving weather.
In CB mode (on CB channels) the radio will mute when transmitting. So... a guess is that it is muting, or transmitting all the time in CB mode. Check for a mic problem by removing the Mic from the radio ... if it receives CB with no mic connected, then there is an issue with the mic. Otherwise, unless the unit is in PA mode (public address mode) it is likely something internal and beyond the scope of this service.

What's up I have a uniden Washington no sound out of the speaker but it is receiving you can tell by the s meter moving.?

do you have the volume turned up? Squelch turned all the way left and RF gain all the way right. If you still don't hear anything check to see if this model has a dynamic squelch .If it does turn it off.

Symptom:Buzzing or motorboating sound in either the transmit or receive.
Problem: TR602 is oscillating
Cure: Replace C602 with a .01uF cap {Cap is located in the power supply board}.
RG 66,99,DX2517 Replace Q54 2SB754 60watt 7A with a higher power 2SB817 100 Watt 12A. Derating of this component will cool operation, provide better voltage stability, decrease wobble, allow voltage increase to 14.5 volts comfortably. (replace 10 volt caps in this section of the radio to a minimum of 16 volts before increasing supply voltage to this level)and provide faster swing rise time, Replace Q37 2SA473 to a 2SA1012-0 or ECG153 this will improve the clarity and volume of the modulation and it will also run a lot cooler.

Does not receive FM signals anymore, just noise.

The T6310 is a disposable radio. Assuming the programming is correct, and matching on each of your radios, and you are using good batteries, there is nothing which can be done to correct the problem. We would however, suggest you double check your programming, and also the age of your batteries.

Sidenote: Rechargeable batteries only last 18-24 months before they begin to fail. Signs of failure can include, but are not limited to, poor transmit, intermittent transmit, white noise, squelching sounds. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, so your transmit would be the first to go.

first to check if your scanner receives try the weather station,it that works then check that your squelch control is not set too low, turn it up till the static from a channel that is not transmitting stops. Also check the antenna ,remove it and then put it back on.If none of this works try removeing the batteries for a few minutes and then putting them back in, or reset your scanner according to the instuctions in the users manual.

Motorola FV500 2 way radio can send/cant receive

Do you hear the Beeps on the speaker? Check for the QT and the code squelch are the same in both radios, try to set code squelch in "0". Make sure that the radio is not receiving or the other one is not transmiting, with two radios will see the same.
