Call Singer at 1-800-4singer customer service, if you play with the tension and don't know what you are doing, you can mess it up big time. Watch the dvd that came with your machine and read the manual

A DVD didn't come with my machine, been on hold with customer service many times, I never get anywhere with them. I am experienced with this machine, just thought there would be "professional" advice given here, apparently not so. I have taken it to a repair shop, the tension disc needs some work. Thanks anyways.

Wow, I am really surprised that you weren't able to get through to Singer customer service, I have had to be on hold but have always been helped, so it was worth the wait. I would ask for the dvd because it is excellent, and gives great tips. Sorry I wasn't able to help you and you think we are unprofessional, I am trying to help people for free and have helped almost 300.

The bottom thread shows on the top, and the top thread shows on the bottom evenly. Have rethreaded and changed needles. ???

To pull the thread through the material the thread tension for the top and bottom is too tight.

How do I adjust the bottom tension? Thread breaks, knots up under fabric

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

I have a singer simple 3116 sewing machine and it stitches loose upper threads. I?ve tried adjusting the tension, re threading, flipping the bobbin around, and even different fabric. But nothing seems to...

Insert a new needle, (flat side facing rear of machine), now totally rethread. Try this, with presser foot up, pull top thread, it should pull smoothly, now lower presser foot, the thread should barely move. This should seat the thread in the tension discs. If that doesn't work, call Singer at 1-800-4singer.

Hi! I have a singer simple 3116 sewing machine

It is the top threading that is giving you the problem not the bobbin thread. Try this, totally rethread, the machine. A new needle will not hurt either. Now with the presser foot up, pull on the top thread, it should feed smoothly, now lower the presser foot, pull the thread again, it should barely move. This usually will seat the thread in the tension discs.
Good luck and Merry Christmas

My thread keeps breaking ON TOP on my Tiny Tailor. It is purchased NEW from a Store. Ido not know if it is the machine or me. I am not a beginner, just cannot get it going it is s singer

I would check to make sure your tension isnt tightened all the way down or not catching on anything, i know that slowing down the machine helps combating thread breaks. One more thing you can try even tho machine is new is to take off tension nobs and springs and turn over the felt pad underneath and rethread machine. Making sure needle is inserted properly, if in back wards it can cause thread breaks as well as needles sometimes burrs in needles (even new needles) will shred your thread and cause breaks. Hope one of thease suggestions will be of assistance
