According to the maintenance guide. If you are using an external drive try to reseat it. If is from the hard drive you can try to use the CD or diskette to boot. If not the hard drive or system board need replacement. Try to get a boot disk of windows (installation cd, not upgrade but the full windows) and try booting the cd by pressing the space bar repeatedly. Good luck

Try changing boot menu sequence instead. Look for F key to press during boot. Should be something like F2, F9, F10... It should be stated on screen when you boot.

How to make CD Rom run as BOOT? please key in

Go into the BIOS and change the boot startup device order. Make the CD the first boot device and the hard disk the second boot device.
If you do not wish to change the BIOS you may select the CD drive as an alternate boot device by pressing F10 or F!2 as the laptop boots up to bring up a list of devices to want to boot from, select the CD drive and the follow the screen prompt.

How can I change boot sequence in Compaq Evo N410c?

You need to access your BIOS configuration. 1. To do this, shutdown your computer and boot it by pressing the power button. 2. You need to hit F10 when the computer first powers up in order to get into BIOS (Note that the key is usually different for different computers. If F10 doesnt work, try F2, F12, Delete or F9. 3. Once in the BIOS, you should find the boot sequence option.
Hope this helps!
