This is an easy fix. If the ignitor is glowing then that means you have power to the circuit. That is good. So why won't light? The ignitor is not drawing enough amps to open the safety valve. It is weak. Replace it. When working on replacing the ignitor take care not to touch the filement or drop the part as they are fragile and subject to burnout when they come in contact with skin oils.

You need to check the current draw on the ignitor if it is not pulling enough power it will not allow the safety valve to open and the gas to flow. replace the ignitor

gas or electric? If it's gas then the ignitor for the flame has burned out. If it's electric then the thermostat is probably bad.

I have a Kenmore 362 75191893 gas range. The oven begins to heat, but doesn't even reach 200 degrees. It seems like it has been reaching lower and lower temperatures over time. Besides this new problem,...

If the burner does not light (with a huge flame above it) I would direct you to some gas line blockage.
But if the burner flame lights good and then goes out early before it's good and hot then I would direct you to a defective oven temperature sensor. The sensor is in the upper wall of the oven cavity, can be bought at your local appliance parts store, and installed by any handyman.

I have a bakers pride pizza oven and the bottom oven Including the pilot light) continue to go out for no apperant reason. I have changed the thermocouple 3 times and the pilot light once. Sometimes it...

Several things to check. First be sure the pilot light flame is directly striking the thermocouple. It is a pencil sized rod that is next to the pilot light. Sometimes people reduce the size of the pilot flame to save gas. You may need to increase the pilot flame. Follow the small gas line from the pilot flame back to the gas valve. There is a screw where the small pilot gas line goes into the valve. Remove the screw and then deep in the hole is a tiny screw that can only be reached by a tiny flat blade screw driver. Turn the screw counter clockwise to increase the pilot flame. The thermocouple needs to be red hot to work properly. The second item to check is to see if there are any breezes that occasionally blow through the kitchen. Sometimes the hood fan will draw air under the ovens and actually blow the pilot flame out. Same fix, increase the flame. You may also experience low gas pressure to the appliance during heavy usage. You would need a manometer gauge to check for proper gas pressure. In short, if the oven goes out during your busiest time when everything gas powered is on, the oven may be starved for gas.

does it light then immediately go out? if yes, usually you have to hold in a button to allow gas to flow while you light the pilot, and hold this button until the therm0-couple is heated with the pilot flame. If the thermo-couple is not sufficiently heated and you let go of this button, the pilot light will go out as the safety circuit thinks there's no flame and unburned gas is entering the oven.

The other thing you could do is adjust the height of the pilot flame... there's usually an adjustment screw near the button described above which will allow you to adjust the height of the flame. Make the flame just big enough to guarantee that it keeps the thermo-couple hot AND that it can light the oven without being blown out.

Good luck.

GE XL44 Oven - On/Off heating of bottom burner.

Mag...not sure here. Is there a particular reason that you're suspecting a problem? Does the unit heat much slower than before? Does it bake properly? You may be looking for problems that aren't.

Ignitor problem?

if you remove the 2 screws on the right and left bottom plate and open the door and youll see 2 screws that panel will come off turn the oven on and you should see 2 burners on both sides and they should ignite.if they do and go right out you could have 2 problems.when the burners light they hit a probe called a flame sense.this probe plugs into a heat board and if the board doesnt sense the flame you will get a red no ignition light.clean the probes that sit right on the burners with sandpaper and see what happens,if that doesnt work if the unit has pilots clean the pilot orfice and if that doesnt work the heat board may be bad.how old is the unit?
