Question about Samsung CLX-2160N All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Samsung clx-3160fn printer Jams near constantly - error "0" meaning the first set of rollers. When I remove the paper tray, there is a sheet of paper laying underneath, with a little bit of the very top of the sheet in the printer - I pull it out easily. Also have to open and close that back door, but there is no paper there/no jam there. Samsung tech told me to clean the rollers visible from the back door, but that did not solve problem. I am using the correct paper, not fuzzy bond or anything like that. Are there other rollers to clean? The paper tray appears undamaged, and sometimes it will print 10 or fifteen papges before it jams. Wondering if overheating.

Yes I suspect there are dirty rollers, or maybe worn rollers (although i haven't given it frequest use), where the paper is jamming. So, how do i get underneath? (these are not the rollers which are visible when you open the rear door) Do I take out the toner and turn it on its side? Are there other pieces i should remove before tilting the printer, like the waste reservior? Are the rollers visible once i turn it over? what should i use to clean them - just water? should they be removed or just cleaned in place? I will also try pushing a sheet of smooth cardboard into the underside rollers, just in case. If that doesn't work, where do I get replacement parts - only samsung?

If its not grabbing the paper at the front, most likely the rollers are worn out. Washing them can help, but replacement is optimum. Also you make want to take light card board (for example, envelope used for priority mailing) rip it in half and use only 1 side, and manually force it up the area where the paper stops, they maybe a small piece of jammed paper in there

I dont know how good you are with taking things apart, so I would suggest first
taking the paper tray out as well as the cartridges. turn unit around so you are facing the back and if possible have the printer stick out over a table just enough so that you have access to the rollers and try to clean them, if still does not help, put unit on side, carefully.

there is access to the rollers if certain parts are taken out, but but requires some work

Paper keeps jamming on Samsung CLX-3160 FN. How do I prevent this from happening?

Paper jams are typically caused by the rubber rollers inability to put paper through the machine. Try cleaning the roller with damp rag to see if that improves performance. If the roller is badly worn, it will need to be replaced.

Constant paper jam

This is usually caused by a worn or dirty feed roller. You can try to clean it with a damp cloth or brush, otherwise you will need to have it replaced.

How do I replace the tray 1 pick roller for my samsung CLX 3160FN printer?

Take out the tray, and you will find a pick rubber roller at the base.
Even you may clean and use it.

Constant Paper jams on CLX-3175FN

The fact that there appears to be no actual jam tells me that it is not picking up paper out of the tray. Try some alcohol on the pickup rollers, rubbing well. If that helps, replace these rollers.

Paper jam

It jams due to the rollers. Please change the rollers and it should be good. also pay attention to the way the paper is being seated in the drawer.
