There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

That would be a shorting membrane keypad.
On most of these, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

It's actually a pretty easy do it yourself job.

A video is available here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Next, disconnect the keypad strip as shown in the photo below, then remove the screws that hold your circuit board in the old frame.

Then carefully (since the display is made of glass) move your circuit board to the new frame, and reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.

There is often a fuse and a magnetron thermal fuse or thermostat.

The microwave won't stop beeping

Your membrane keypad has failed. I'm guessing it's giving an error code of F2 also?

On the KHMS155LSS# models, the membrane keypad is available as part of the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

Replacing this is actually a pretty easy do it yourself job.

Is there an electonic reset for 'door open' message. Mechanical latches appear to be working

If the switches are good (test & order info here), and it's a Kitchenaid / Whirlpool of recent design (by L.G.) then they have more than one fuse inside.

There will be a fuse associated with the door circuit which will cause this problem, but not render the oven "dead".

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
