My dishwasher does not completely drain. how do you remove the plastic strainer?

If after the cycle there is about a cup or two left in the bottom of the dishwasher than it is likely the check valve located on the drain line close to the connection at the dishwasher.

If you listen carefully as the unit pumps out draining the sump if the pump sound increases as if the sump has emptied than you can assume it is the check valve.

It might clear itself over time. Each cycle the valve is purged. If not than you may need to replace the valve. The purpose of the valve has two important functions.
  1. Prevent water from the sink drain reentering the dishwasher. This is particularly true if the sink should ever get stopped up.
  2. The second it to prevent the small amount of water trapped in the drain loop from refilling the sump

Why is water left in the machine after cycle

Most dishwashers leave some water at the base at end of cycle.

The problem is there if a large quantity of water is left when the cycle is complete. The most common is blocked filters in the pump sump. If this is clean then the next problem could be outlet hose or the kitchen sink waste pipe. Make sure the kitchen side is clear. If all this is ok then the blockage could in the pump itself. It will look similar to this item.

I turned on my Danby countertop dishwasher without water! and now it does not work at all. Someone help me please, how can i fix it!!!

unless it ran for quite a while there should be no damage. plug it into the water, add a few cups of water to the water to fill the sump and prime the pump and turn it on it should work then.

Our danby at home shuts itself off when there is no water so I'm assuming thats what you are seeing.

When the dishwasher finishes runing complete cycle there is water in the bottom that will not drain out

if the amt of water exceeds 2-3 cups, you may have a drain restriction, usually plumbing related. if the water left over is no more than a cup or so this is normal to keep motor sump area saturized to prevent dry rotting of seals

Water in drain pump for ASKO D5122XXL dishwasher

Yes, Asko dishwashers can leave a small amount of water in the sump after a cycle completes. At the beginning of most cycles the sump is pumped and new water added.

Inside on the back of the tub, there should be a grate with screws that come out. Check for obstructions around the pump area. There may be food debris settling in the sump pump area

Dishwasher tap off

We've always left ours on until the wash was complete as there are a few times throughout the cycle that need water.

The fill valve is probably stuck in the full position. It's at the bottom of the tub and looks like a small tube with a cap on it. You should be able to move the cap up and down easily.
