My lap top keeps shutting off

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

When plugged in the unit starts to smell hot like an electical burn,

Turn it on turn it over and see if the fan is operating. If not power your lap top off and replace the fan. You may have to not use this computer until the fan is replaced it is advisable not to. The smell you have may be dust smell when it gets hot. Clean throughly and make sure that all the dust is out of your computer. Also recommended a lap fan also which goes underneath the laptop to assist with cooling.
Lap tops are very touchy and need to be kept cool at all times otherwise you will be purchasing a new lap top if you do not take care of the cleaning or the cooling or the fan not working or spinning slowly. Check all this out. Critical if you do not understand what I mean take your computer to a local shop for immediate care. I hope this assisted you. John

My processor is getting hot. What will be the solution.

Turn it off ... it will not get hot.

Typically, normal temperature is over 100 degrees. There have been reports of fires starting as the result of a overheated PC. I am not making the claim, I have not had this experience.

Heat is the enemy of delicate computer parts. They call them Lap Tops but you should never use one on your lap. Always place your lap top on a hard surface to insure the vents are not blocked and the internal fan can try to do its job. If you are concerned about the heat, you can get a 'cool pad' to use under your lap top. A cool pad has a fan which blows onto your lap top to keep it cool. The cool pad gets its power from a USB in your laptop. This cool pad should not be used for long periods of time on battery power for obvious reasons.

My dell vostro 1014 is annoying too much. problem in fan. after iuse sometime, the fan stars to noise and hot air comes out. i don't use cooler and i use long time

This is a critical issue you will need to replace the fan inside the lap top. Or clean it the blades may be hitting dust accumulation around the fan. The bearings are getting worn down and soon it will stick and then burn up the CPU change this fan out I would say "RIGHT NOW". If you decided to do this on your own. If you know how to do this or have done lap top repairs before you would know this is so important. It is an indication of things not so pretty to come your way, now is the time for a bath and a new fan. Thanks great question? John

Toshiba l300d just turns off

You may have a bad battery, try running it on AC only. If it still does it, I would supect the cooling fan if not working or it is plugged up with dust and debris. Usually a shut down is caused from an overheat condition. The computer will shut down to protect itself. You may have to get a hold of a computer tech to resolve this.

Power

If the fan is spinning quite fast then the overheating problem is most likely dust clogging the fan and heat-sink assembly. Blasting air into the fan and heat-sink can only make it worst as you are forcing the dust further into the heat-sink fins.
Remove the panels covering the vent and fan/heat-sink, loosen the dust and vacuum to remove this dust off the fan and heat-sink. Check the fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
After re-assembling and boot up, if you still have heating problems, addition cooling can be employed by purchasing a laptop fan assisted cooling pad. Place the laptop on top of this pad and the fans on the pad will direct additional cooling air to the laptop's vents.
