Just got a new Bosch dishwasher (forget which model). After the dishwashing cycle has ended (even long after), the dishwasher and dishes are still wet. Was this an installation problem? Thanks

Hi -
I can't see how any installation problem would cause this - if the dishes are still wet at the end of the cycle, you'll probably find the water isn't heating during the wash cycle. The dishwasher uses steam to heat the washing compartment and dry the dishes. It would appear that the dishwasher isn't heating water internally.
Even if the washer was accidentally connected to the cold water supply ** (see note), this shouldn't happen as regardless of the water supply temperature, the washer should still heat the water to the correct temperature internally.
** UK dishwashers should be connected to the cold water supply. For US installations, dishwashers are commonly connected to the hot water supply. For other locations, please consult your installation instructions.
I suggest you start a regular wash cycle and leave it to run for 10-15 minutes. Then open the door and test the temperature of the water in the base of the washer by hand. The water should be hot and there should be steam present in the washer when you open the door.
If the water is cold or only warm, the water isn't being heated internally or isn't heating to the correct temperature, in which case you should contact the retailer or Bosch Service immediately for a replacement. Do not accept an offer of repair on a brand new washer!
Additionally, do not attempt to repair the dishwasher yourself when under warrantly as this will invalidate the warranty.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know your location and the model number of the washer. This should be laser-etched into the top of the door if you can't find it on any of your paperwork.
Regards, BElectric

Hello there:
there is a water solonoid valve that supplies the water to the unit if this has failed the valve will fail in the closed position resulting in no water to the unit so i would first check out all of the filters and than i would have the solonoid valve checked out and replaced if needed this is about a 35 dollar part ok?
best regards michael

There is no water getting to the dishwasher. Nothing has changed with the water line. Looks like there is a problem with the dishwasher. (Bosch Brand)

Hello, your problem is going to be with the inlet valve. Remove the panel at the front bottom of the dish washer, turn the water and power off. You will see the inlet valve normally on the left side underneath your dishwasher (sometimes on right) connected to the water supply. Remove the water supply hose/pipe and then remove the wire harness from the valve. Now you can remove the valve from the machine. Just inside the inlet there should be a screen...check this for debris. If debris found clean out and reassemble, If no debris replace the valve and then reassemble. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike

Dishwasher

I have seen this problem before on a couple of dishwashers.

How are the dishes doing? Are they coming out clean, or do some of them "fail".

If you rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, it may be hard to detect "failure" to clean. Try not rinsing the dishes once and run them through a cycle. My guess is that the "failure" rate will be high.

The problem I have seen is that the dishwasher water input filter is either clogged or the water-full sensor is "telling" the unit that there is enough water in before it actually fills properly.

So, some water can get in, but not enough to properly wash the dishes and dissolve the soap.

On the appliance repair sites they have parts breakdown details and what you are looking for is an input valve assembly -- the point just after the water line connects to the dishwasher.

Now the valve may be OK, but the feedback system could be bad.

(On a Bosch dishwasher the valve IS the feedback system and the filter.)

Any filtering or "water full" signal will feed back to that valve.

If you get inside that front lower panel, be sure to turn the electricity off first 'cause if you get crosswise in that area you could end up with a 'shocking' experience!

good luck

Water left after finishing wash

I have a Bosch Dishwasher and the E-Nr is SGS4362EU/03. The machine is approximately 4 years old, in good condition and has been working very well. Suddenly, there is water remaining after it completes a 50 degrees C wash cycle. This is also evident with the pre wash cycle and the 65 degrees wash cycle.

I have checked and cleaned the filters. I have loosened the internal pump white cover (Torx T 20 screw) and checked for any physical blockage - none. I have also checked for any drainage hose kinks - none.

I have tried a series of empty washes and the machine drains the water during the wash cycles. The dishes are also have a dull colour and show show signs of not being properly rinsed during the wash cycle.

Please assist.

Reagrds,

Brian

Dishes and inside the washer are not drying

Make sure that the drain hose is connected as per manufacturer instructions, and that there isn't a direct run down from the sink u-bend to the machine. The rinse agent effects dishes dry but has nothing with the water remaining in the machine. Good luck!

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
