Power off. If the slide scaner is an adapter, unplug and replug it. power on and see if you can scan slides.

If that doesn't work, try the old trick of lifting it up about 1 inch and dropping it. Try again. If it still doesn't work, check with epson to see if it is still under warranty. Obviously, don't tell them about the 1 inch drop. ;>

1997 Volvo 850 no abs light

The abs light bulb has burned out (just like a regular light bulb). These bulbs can be replaced easily, you just remove the upper portion of the dashboard by removing the retaining screws and then you will see the gauge cluster underneath. The gauge cluster will unclip and unplug and then you can replace the bulbs which are burned out. It is very common for older cars to have dash bulbs burn out.

Did you get my question about scanner

We try to answer questions. We are not n educational centre. When you want to learn how to use a scanner, when you already bought one, it look to me like I buy a car and then I ask how to use it. I buy a Fiat 500 and want to start a delivery service for refrigerators. As soon as someone starts explaining how to use the fiat 500 I say, He how do I put a refrigerator or even better 20 refrigerators in the car?
Looks silly, but you don't but a scanner just for scanning. You must have a goal, what you want to scan.
I bought a scanner for my photo hobby and scan negatives, positives, slides and real photo's. And yes I sometimes scan an article from a magazine. But I can tell you for every different source you need different techniques. And with every scanner comes a manual (or you can download it from the net, explaining how you can scan the different media types.
Basically you put sometime on or in the scanner and start the program that came with the scanner.
But with most (cheaper) flatbed scanners you can put a slide or a photo negative on the scanner, but you can't get a picture, because it does not have a light source, needed to scan a negative or slide.
Then for every source you have different techniques to make a scan or to make a good quality scan.
After years of using scanners, I'm still learning how to improve my output.
Don't think I'm to lazy to explain how to scan, because, just put an image on the scanned and press the scan button. You will have a result. But again for every different source and foe every wanted result is a different setting needed, and it can't be explained in writing. I recently followed some Linda lectures about scanning. I think that would be the best way to go when you really want to do some good scanning.
To get an idea, google for lynda.com and scanning, or look here:

I downloaded formware for my Trudirect Super writemaster but now the burner won'y even work...playing or burning. What do I have to do to rollback to the way it was? I have two burner players,

The firmware update did not take and rendered your unit into a useless paperweight. Happens. That is why, often, if something is working fine, it is best to leave it alone rather than take the risk of some thing going wrong. Lesson learned.

Wall oven bake element split

Was there a burning smell before at the time when it heated up slowly?A burning smell suggests there was a (possibly continuous) spark at the splitted place. If it was split earlier then the slower warming up was possibly due to a continuous spark, because then there won't be much energy left for heating. It's like an added resistance. So it could've been there for a while already.
The element just needs to connect again where it splitted and should stay there, then it should work again.

Motor runs, brush won't turn, burning rubber smell

Easy to fix. The burning rubber smell is hair in the roller against the belt! Congrats, you have a healthy vacuum, you are lucky! Unplug the vacuum, remove the screws that cover the belt and roller brush. If you are nervous, take pictures with a cell phone or digital camera as you go for re-assembly. ok, pull the long roller out of it's slot and out of the vacuum. cut all hair off the roller and carefully move the belt from side to side to do the same. If the belt slips off, it slips back on easily. If the area is too tight for fingers guide it back on with any long thin wooden object. You can squeeze the belt to narrow it and slide it back over the thin metal rod that spins it from the motor. Slide the roller through the belt and back into it's slots. If it won't slide back on, turn it a quarter turn. Repeat till it does slide back into place. Put the face plate back on-tighten screws, flip it over, plug itr in and it should work!

My check engine light DOES NOT come on when i turn my key foward like the other lights! its 01 blazer, 4.3 .....where is the light located, i think the bulb is burnt out! I have bad hesitation when i stomp...

The light is located next to the gate adjar light in the upper left area of the cluster. It at the 2500 rpm mark on the tachometer.
I would take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes. The will scan the car for you at no charge. Write the codes down and respond back.

I have a CanoScan 5200F

Because the slides are see through which means you will need a special add on for the scanner for it to support slides. If you have this already then make sure that it is fitted on properly so no light can get in the compartment where the slides are held during the scan
