SOURCE: HP PAVILION ELITE M9340F PC DESKTOP MAKES A LOT OF NOISE (BUZZING

Is the noise coming from the computer itself or from the speakers? If the speakers are buzzing it would be a sound card issue or a speaker problem. Test with different card and speakers. If the noise is from the computer I would take the cover off and try to pinpoint where the noise originates. Listen to all the fans and if noisy, replace. Also make sure that no wires are making contact with the fan blades. Listen to the hard drive and if the noise is from there back-up ASAP because it is going bad and will need to be replaced soon. Does the noise only occur when using the CD/DVD drive? Could be that too.

SOURCE: HP PAVILION ELITE M9340F PC DESKTOP MAKES A LOT OF NOISE (BUZZING

I have the same problem and I found out it was the fan of the video card cause the noise. Ton of users own this computer have the same problem, click the following link and see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=HardwareDPC&thread.id=976&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
The hardware problem is cause by the GeForce 9500GS video board that cannot be fixed. If your computer still under warranty, contact HP techniocal support and replace another model or another brand video board, if not,buy another video card and replace it yourself. Remember, don't use the GeForce 9500GS video board, all this video card will have noise problem after a few months.

Volume screen keeps popping up every few seconds, when I touch "menu" button it goes away, only to come back a few seconds later

michaelfoder, Because very strange things start to appear on the screens of cold cathode fluorescent lamp, back-lit, LCD monitors, I always investigate the "switch-mode-power-supply/ccfl inverter supply for very common occuring defects in the supply!!! You can find out about them here: http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Just remember to do a fixya rating and testimonial if this response helps you to find and correct problem in your 2-3year old unit. Problem could be an unstable +5v or +3.3v dc supply rail. 12fixlouie

Newer HP Pavilion dv6000 turned off while in use and wont turn on

1.Start your computer and see if your hear your fan noise, and cannot see anything on screen then there is problem with your power supply.

2.If you cannot hear your fan noise, and do not see anything on screen, then there is problem with your motherboard

3.if you hear fan noise and can see something on screen, then it is the issue with your hard disk (very less cases)

Mostly it would be the 2nd case that you will have to get your motherboard replaced

Touchscreen popping noise

It should be rotated carefully. The mechanism attached to it is getting bad. Take it to a certified hp engineer to uncouple and couple back. The noice should dissappear after that.

I understand that when you try to increase the volume the programs freezes.

To isolate the issue please uninstall HP Quick Touch Software.

Here are the steps to uninstall HP Quick Touch Software.

Click start and select Control Panel

Then select Programs

This will show list of programs

There select HP Quick Touch Software and click on uninstall/Remove.

Then restart the Notebook . This should resolve the issue.

Thanks.
