Re install the drivers, specifically for your sound/audio. A recent windows update on your pc created this problem. Go to support.toshiba.com and on to the downloads section. make sure you select your exact model and look for a driver about audio, download and install. It should fix your problem.

Tips for a great answer:
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
or you might download slimdrivers
note: it will find all of your outdated drivers
