You can buy another FOCUSER at several online sites-- here is one:

How do you set the finder scope on the Starview 150EQ. I have no adjustment options and it is not in line with the main telescope alignment. The instruction manual is totally inadequate.

Place a wide angle, that is longer focal length lens in the scope in daylight and focus it and centre on some distant object, a tree, blg, tower etc.

Then use the adjustment screws on the finder to centre it on this same object.

Change to your next higher power lens, that is shorter focal length, refocus and centre, and repeat with the finder adjustment.

Next wait for evening and a bright star or planet to appear and centre it in the finder first this time. It should be somewhere near centre in the lens also. Centre it properly in the lens and make a final adjustment on the finder.

I can not get the telescope to focus. The viewfinder will not focus in. and can't see anything out of the out of the optical tube.

This type of telescope is viewed from the small tube at the rear. Use the longest lens you have. Most people think that they need magnification, but that is not accurate. A 5 mm lens will only have 1/6th the field of view (how much sky you see) compared to a 30 mm. The picture below was taken through a 50 mm lens.

I have an older meade LX2000 EMC 10

The main problems encountered with the mechanics of the telescope centre around the mechanical swarf, grease compound, the liberal use of grease and the quality of machining of the main DEC and RA gears.
1. Remove the motors from the telescope. Be careful when removing either motor as there is a compression spring between the motor mounting frame and the worm shaft assembly.
The RA motor is located under the telescope body, removing the 4 screws and 2 Allen bolts will allow the bottom cover to be removed, thereby allowing access the the 2 Allen bolts holding the motor in place. Unplug the motor from the main PCB before removal.
The DEC motor is in the the fork arm containing the clutch and fine DEC adjustment control. (Never to be used with power applied to the scope). Remove the 3 small Allen screws holding the plastic cover plate in place and the DEC clutch knob to allow access to the motor. Remove the RJ45 connector located inside the telescope fork arm. Then remove the motor by unscrewing the 2 Allen bolts holding the motor in place.
2. Remove all grease from the motor worms, especially around the RA motor's magnetic pulse detector and the permanent magnet built into the worm shaft.
3. Remove all grease from the main DEC and RA gears, making sure to clean into the gear teeth.
4. Lightly re-grease with a Molybdenum Disulphide based grease (Castrol MS3 is great for this application if you can get it)
5. Assemble in reverse order. But before doing so, carry out the electrical adjustment above then, (a) relocate the the RA and DEC control PCB's in the vertical plane thereby gaining access to their respective backlash Allen screws. Adjust for 20thou max clearance when in final position. Note:- the DEC adjustment screw has to be replaced for a longer unit complete with a thin bolthead as this adjustment has to be carried out with a spanner....there is no room for an Allen key adjustment here.
6. A drop of Loctite must be applied after adjustment.
7. The final part of the process is to run in the gearing. Apply 12 volts to the motor wires, either at their respective plugs or to the motor direct. Allow to run for 2 to 3 hours in each direction by reversing the battery polarity to bed the teeth engagement. Remember to release the clutches.

You do not have enough BACK-FOCUS, you need an extension tube for the focuser like this one:

This is one of the worst telescopes you could have purchased. Plastic eyepieces and a plastic focuser! We receive many complaints about not being able to focus.

Try again--- next time buy one of these which is the best value in amateur astronomy.

The alt/az adjustment knobs don't work

Are you sure the set screw is tightened? Some scopes have limited adjustment ande the screw need to be "centered" so you can adjust in both directions.

If all else fails Orion has a good customer service department:

Things are upside down looking thru the eyepiece on main telescop

If things are upside down in your telescope, you probably have a reflector telescope.it has curved mirror in the sealed end.take off the cover near the finder and point in the general direction of what you want to see.Make adjustments with the stuff on the mount. If you are viewing terrestrial objects, you will need an inverting lens to correct the image. It is called a Barlow lens and is much longer than the other lenses that come with the telescope.Good Luck

Your finder is not aligned with your telescope. During the day time focus on a distant small object with the telescope-- then without moving the telescope adjust the crosshairs in the finder to match the telescope.

Ge timer on washer is broken

If it no longer clicks, the timer assembly will need to be replaced. If just the knob broke off, the timer should be good.
