Question about Labtec LCS 2424 Computer Speakers

Open Question

I have a a Labtec Multimedia Speaker, Pulse 475, that I have had for years. All of a sudden, one of the smaller speaker connections does not work. Both satellite speakers work fine but only when they are plugged into the white hole. The red hole is not functioning. The wires are still solidly connected inside the speaker. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: wiring internal board of labtec computer speakers

The shielded wires are for ground, so they get connected together. Plug the wire into the PC and run some music. Then touch each wire to the others. You only have a couple of combinations to try...red-to-green and white-to-yellow, or red-to-yellow and white-to-green, . You can do this while the PC is one and music playing until you get sound thru the speakers. There virtually no current running thru the wires and you can't hurt the PC by doing this.
If the speakers use an external power supply, have it plugged in and working when trying these connection options.

SOURCE: Labtec LCS-2424 speakers: left speaker stopped working

I have the same problem sir, only the speaker with volume
control works. Earlier I used to twist the volume control this
way and that way to get the sound from the other speaker also.
Now the same technique doesn't work anymore.

Based on the color-coded audio cables that came with the speaker system, connect one of the AUDIO OUTPUTS set on your audio source (TV, PC) to a corresponding AUDIO INPUT set on your speaker system.

gfo to the computer manufacturer's website and look up the computer by model and/or serial number, and download the proper "audio driver" for your operating system. it may be alternatively labeled as "ac97" or "realtec" or possibly something i have never heard of.

Channel not working

If the Logitech Pulse 475 is the same as the Labtech Pulse 475 then the left channel amplifier probably blew. The Labtec uses a 5 pin TDA2030A, which costs around $3. You will need to know how to solder to repair this. The back of the case comes off by removing the 8 screws around the back of the case and lifting it out by the power cord. Then, simply desolder the left channel amplifier marked IC201 (it's on the leftmost side of the board, next to the volume potentiometer) and solder the new amplifier in it's place.
