Question about Mitsubishi WS-55513 55" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

I have a Misubishi WS-55513 55 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television.. I replaced the capacitors last month on the DM board and it worked perfectly. Now the tv turns on but the picture is black and there are colored stripes running up and down the right side of the screen. The sound is perfect and I can see the channels shown on the tv. Any ideas?

Probably need to check those connections to the dm board, hopefully one is somewhat loose. reseat all those and hopefully the prob will be solved. you can also reseat the doubler board (it sits in the shield upright in the middle of the signal board, just to the right of the dm board) ... all the pic is processed by that doubler board. let me know if I can be of further assistance.

For their cost it's probably worth trying to replace the capacitors again.

If there's space around the capacitors then I suggest you get high voltage rating i.e if the existing ones are 16V then get 25V.

Also worth checking for any other damaged components or scorch marks on the PCB.

Have a misubishi ws55859 green light blinks will not turn on it all started when the tv was unpluged

The dm board power circuit has gone bad and would require many capacitors to be changed. This board is a box (metal grey) on the left extreme as viewed from rear next to input connector board. It is not recommended as an abinitio DIY Project. Caps faults are difficult to find and require an ESR meter. Call for professional help and should cost 180 to 220.
