From the Dell support site:

You can turn your computer's wireless networking function on and off by pressing the key combination. If the wireless networking function is turned on, press to disable it. If the wireless networking function is turned off, press to enable it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i get my dell inspiron E1705 to connect wirelessly?

Hello,

First of all make sure the Wifi is turned on your laptop.
You need to press Fn+F2 at the same time to turn the wireless on. Once its on you need to connect to the wifi network in range and you are good to go.

Thanks

Ok, my router is way in the other room and I want to connect my Xbox 360 to the router for XBOX LIVE. The thing is, is that I can't find a way to get something to extend the wire that's connecting to both;...

There are several solutions to your problem .
1. Run Ethernet Cable from an attic & drop either end down in the walls of the two rooms . Hardwiring is always going to give you the fastest , most stable connection .
2. Purchase a set of Power Over Ethernet Modules , you then plug your ethernet cable into your Xbox 360 on one end & the Power Over Ethernet Adapter on the other end , then plug the " POE " Adapter into a standard electrical socket . You will do the exact same thing on the other end with the Router this time . It should connect just as if you ran a single ethernet cable between the 2 devices .
3. You can use a laptop or desktop pc with a Wifi connection & Ethernet port to Wifi Tether / Share your Internet Connection . Just do a google search on Wifi Tether Xbox 360 or check out some of the videos at

I am not getting internet connection. It keeps saying that there is no ethernet adapter connected but I have the ethernet cord plugged in. When I turn the switch on the right of the computer for the WiFi,...

The Ethernet is still can't use for WiFi so far,but it isn't not a problem for the WiFi connect matter because there is a Net Work card itself for most Laptop today including Dell Inspiron 1525 PC Notebook, it may be the Drive matter for the Net work system, you can update it ,or there is no WiFi Net work in your place obsolutely.

Press the the F3 key while pressing the FN key.

if it takes no effect, try installing the drivers at http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4_9400

to set upa network

http://lifehacker.com/software/wifi/geek-to-live-set-up-a-home-wireless-network-162754.php

there is no "earthnet" connection. it is an ethernet connection. it looks like a phone cable but has larger ends than a phone connector. the router is connected to the computer via an ethernet cable if it needs to be hardwired to a ethernet port or internal ethernet card. a wireless connection only needs to be an add-on internal card w/antenna or a usb connector hub (it looks like a usb flash memory stick)

here is how it's done. netgear has the same type setup.
