Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

My Maytag mod #mvwc6esww0 won't fill. It will spin only. checked input hoses and screens no problem there. The washer is only 2 1/ weeks past the 1 year warranty. From what I can determine hunting around the internet it seams to me the load sensor would have a high probability of being the culprit. My mom was opening the lid all the time for the first six months until i finally got her to stop doing it. 84 years stubborn. Anyone have the part number for this? I guess it must be located underneath the washer drum somewhere. I took apart the top and back of the washer, found the wiring diagram. Gave all the connections a look and everything is ok as far as a visual check goes. Will hunt underneath it tomorrow. Any tips would be real helpfull and appreciated greatly. Thanks

Query the water switch sensor. This sensor tells the machine it is full of water. The sensor is probably worn out. The machine thinks it is full of water and is ready to agitate the clothes. Try to replace the sensor.
Try repair clinic.com the website has a you-tube visual on how to find your model number. Helpful.

Check for a blockage either in the filter or the outlet hose or the water pump

Water leaks (drips ) into tub after cycle/spin is complete

You have a bad pressure switch or the small hose connecting to the pressure switch may be bad

If the washer leaks water when is filling only, check the following: 1.Fill hoses
2.The water mixing valve

3.Filling injector ( If your washer uses one )
4.Filling spout

If the washing machine leaks during the wash cycle, check the following:

2.The tub stem & seal
3.Tub to pump hose
4.The drain hose
5.Tub (rusted holes)
6.The drum support bolts

If the washing machine leaks during the spin cycle, check the following:
1.The drain hose
2.The tub cover seal
3.The pump
4.The pump hoses

My maytag mtw5600tq1 washer won't hold water. Its

Hi,
Its sounds like you have a siphon going on, this happens when the drain hose it too low during fill and as the water enters the unit it exits through the drain hose. To stop this the drain hose needs to be higher than the tub itself, meaning: raise the drain hose behind the washer to about control panel area. This will or should stop the siphon effect and allow the water to remain in the tub. If the drain hose is low this siphon will start again.
I hope this helps

Maytag Washer Mod. MVWC6ESWW0 Automatic water level not working

Check your pressure hose to see if it has come off the load selection switch. If it has not then it may be the pressure sensor on the tub.

This is similar to a problem I had after my power suddenly went out while the washer was filling with water. When the power resumed the washer would no longer run water... all other systems (agitate, drain, spin) worked fine.

A 10 minute, $113 dollar service call revealed that there was a fuse inside the front upper left area that had blown. Remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel to get access to the inside.

Check it out and replace it if necessary.
