When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?
When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.
Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.
Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.
Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
The best way to scan images to save on yourcomputer is to use the scanner software on the computer. Not the scan functionon the scanner. You don't say what type of scanner software you have but usually scannersoftware works this way: 1) Place photo on scanner 2) Open scanner software 3) Using the software, Initiate scan 4) Name the Scanned item and save it to your desired location/folder Note: some applications will automatically save to --My Documents--My Pictures 5) Repeat process for each pic to be scanned
Also, if you are just scanning, it should not matter what the ink situation is.
On this machine you have to install inks with power on and use the ink button and choose replace ink. If you just plug them in it won't register and reset the counts. You may need to run clean cycles at least twice to get proper colors.
Your refilled cartridge didn't get the ink level chip reset. Your printer will refuse to print, scan, copy, etc.. until you replace the cartridge that's "empty." I would return the cartridge to the refiller you purchased it from and buy a refill from Cartridge World. These simple problems do not happen with Cartridge World refills.
There is a sensor in the printer that checks ink levels. The sensor uses a beam of light to do so; if the light bounces back, the machine assumes there is ink in the cart and continues to operate. If the light is not bounced back, the machine assumes that the cart is empty and starts beeping and won't allow any other functions until cartridge is replaced.
Take a piece of black electrician's tape and placed it on the cartridge’s spine. The sensor will assume the cartridge has plenty of ink and will function.
What you seem to want to do is not possible. Let me explain: A file that has its data in the Adobe company Portable Document Format (or a pdf file) contains various objects that are described to the computer using a superset of the PostScript language, some of them can be images.
A file that comes from the scanner is first a very organized set of pixels and gets put into a more compact form by using a well known process as defined by the Joint Motion Picture Experts group. This is a roundabout way of saying that it has a format that isn't PDF.
What you CAN do: a) open the jpeg file with a Macintosh, using the Print command from the file menu make a pdf file that has the image in it.
b) buy and install a PDF printer driver on a Windows machine, and then follow the same process as A above.
c) Use your favorite PDF creation program to make a file with the image embedded.
