You'll need a working Internet connection to download it. Either try the Intel website, or use a driver finder program.

Hi Experts, I need your valuable help in fixing the the issue that I am facing with my Dell D600 Latitude Laptop, the problem is - I am trying to install a new Broadcom wireless card on my Dell D600, but...

remove the card then see if it starts up. If so, then it is a problem with the card. If not, check and see if the memory sticks are still firmly in place. remove those and then reinstall. as far as bios all you do there is enable or disable wireless but should not have anything to do with computer booting up. Give it a try and good luck!

i dont think the c640 usually comes with wireless so i dont think the antenna will be in there so you might have to get them. but you can take off the ram cover on the bottom and see if the wires are there. this shows the wireless card in there

OK generally if you have the drivers and it fits in the slot than there is NO reason why it would not work. As for software, one goes to the manufacturers web site and download relevant drivers, & install.

Well yes and no. Yes you can uninstall the software but then you will not have any wireless connection. Unless you are going to replace it with something else.

There are no active mixer devices

Sounds like you might just need the drivers restored for your sound card.

Try downloading the driver for the sound card by clickingon this link

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=57707

If that doesnt fix it you migh have the device disabled in the bios.
Try the drivers first then let me know if it works and we will go from there

Dell C640 wireless not working

I used Everest home edition to find the wireless drivers for my DELL C640 laptop.   The wireless card in it is an  ntel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B MiniPCI Adapter (IBM). I've downloaded the wireless driver from Intel's website, here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=944&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional〈=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go!#DRI
It's the 3rd result in that search page. If the link doesn't work, simply search for Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection on Intel's site.
That Dell C640 wireless driver works fine for me, I'm using the wireless card to type this :)
good luck!
