Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have synced an album onto my Gigaware mp3 and when I try to play it, all I get is a lock symbol. Then the screen goes blank. There's nothing in the user manual about a lock. No help on Rhapsody, no help in my computer. How do i unlock it.

You may need to factory reset it. Once it's blank, try syncing it again but with just a couple of tracks you know play OK.

Rick, reinstall your iTunes on the computer. Reset the iPod (press both home button and on / off button, till the screen goes blank. wait till the apple logo comes and goes out again and switch on again) All things you payed for in the Apple store, can be put back on the iPod if anything is not there. Just go to the store and buy it again. You now see a cloud symbol and not the download or buy button.

I will try and make this as short as possible and hope you understand what I am asking. I just got an Ipod Classic last month and signed up with Itunes and then downloaded about 1300 songs from my cd...

You can't "backwards sync" (put music from your iPod back onto your computer) through iTunes. When you went to sync after you got your fixed computer back, I'm assuming iTunes tried to copy what was in iTunes (nothing) to your iPod, which probably is what caused these problems.

Assuming you still have the music on your iPod, I would recommend transferring the music from your iPod back to your computer (to a folder other than iTunes), restoring your iPod to factory settings, then moving all of the music files into iTunes and re-syncing your iPod.

There are two programs that are available to transfer songs from your iPod back onto your computer. The first is iDump and the second is YamiPod. I have found that iDump is the better of the two.
The link for iDump is:

Hope this helps!

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

How to down load music on mp3

You should of got a disc with your mp3. You need to download that. Then plug it in through USB onto your comp/laptop. Then download a song you like on your computer. I use limewire to download music. Then simply play all the music on windows media player. I do them all at once (not so there all playing just so one plays then the other does and so on just like a album but on media player) then if it doesn't recognise your mp3 click "sync" then click "now playing" then "sync all"
Hope I helped Dr Reed

Use other Mp3 ripper software. I think the problem is Windows Media Player rips it to WMA file and not as Mp3 file.

Player wont play certain albums when getting close to being full.

There is a maximum number of songs allowed (1000 for 4 GB) so you are probably over this magic number - they are still listed just don't play. I don't have solution for you - just a reason why.
