Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor

Proview Monitor pic quality diminishing

I've had this Proview PL926Wbi just over a year. In the last couple of days the picture quality has diminished to the point where it is difficult to view. Looks like something is wrong with my eyes. I choose 'default' and 'auto' corrections but nothing seems to change.
What do you suggest?

Here's what happened. I read this solution and I was afraid I'd break it. So I turned off everything (again) and dusted the entire desk area gently. Left it off for probably 5 minutes. When I restarted it, beautiful again! I waited to see if it would "keep" before posting this reply. Still beautiful. (Dusty again, though) :)

    Thanks for being there.

It sound to me as if the focus on the moniter has changed. If so a couple of possible tihngs might be going on. You could have a dust build up due to the static charge difference the dust and the high voltage potential with in the moniter. If so you can open it up and clean it with an air sorce or vacumn. You might also try adusting the focus adjustment on the back of the moniter. The worst case is that some componet is becoming weak and will fail in the future. Good luck

Does my Proview PL926WBi 19

Any monitor will work with any computer provided the correct graphics card driver is installed. When you install Vista and you do not install the graphics driver, Windows will default to Generic VGA driver and you will not get the best resolution that the monitor can display.

I have a proview 900w and it comes on but only for a couple seconds then the backlights turn off. Does anyone know how this might be fixed?

check your signal cable from your computer or the port itself. one of those might have a problem causing the monitor to go off.

thanks

unsoldering is the only way to UN-mount capacitors the board needs to be out of the casing. a solder iron and some electronic solder wire can be bought at radio shack or any other electronics store.
procedures are all over the internet

make sure the cables are pushed in all the way and tighten. On pick that is out of place can distort color correction. also try reseting the monitor to factory settings.
