TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it becomes very faint or even appears as if the calculator isn't turning on at all. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

What type of AA batteries are you using? If you are using batteries from the dollar store that may be your problem. Try Energizer or Duracell.

How to fix my hp calculator 12c numbers display is faint?

There is no contrast adjustment possible with the 12c. Most of the time, faint displays are due to weak batteries or poor contact with the battery or batteries.

The display is so faint i can't see it very well I went into display and put to factory settings and did not help?

Hello,

Download and run the Garmin WebUpdater to install or reinstall the latest software (firmware). This will usually fix most issues.

I have a Sharp Scientific calculator EL-556D (it is old - have had it for years all through uni). It has HEX on the screen and is not calculating correctly. The screen is going faint too - could it just...

If it displays HEX, then it is doing calculations in hexadecimal numeration. If that is not what you want change the numeration mode to DECimal. As to its screen being faint, then its battery may be depleted. I may be time to get a new calculator?

Geko 101 wouldn't turn off. Removed/inserted batts, wont turn on

Press the power on button while holding OK until the unit switches on- that puts the 101 into Service mode. Then press the up key until the screen contrast is about right. (or press the down key... to make it darker). You'll be able to see if all the tests pass. Then when you're happy with the setting, turn off.

Rth230b honeywell display screen faint

Mike, The static electrical spark probably 'zapped' the Rth230b Honeywell Display unit. If you have already tried removing the power (batteries) from the unit and after waiting several minutes; reapply the power (batteries). If the problems remain unchanged, then it is time to replace the Display unit with a new one. The static electricity problem is problematic and the only way to prevent the same problem from recurring is to discharge yourself before touching the Honeywell Display. As you walk across the room which (probably has carpet), causes the static electricity to build up on your body and then discharges itself through the Display unit when you make contact with the Display unit. You might try coming to a complete stop and attempt to discharge the static charge on your body by touching the wall first with one hand for a second before touching the Display unit with the other hand. Naturally, cold weather with low humidity makes the static electricity worse. Hopes this helps you. Henry

LCD Display too faint

Replacing the battery won't change anything. The LCD would have to be replaced, there are not any adjustments to change the LCD intensity.
