CD tray not opening on Denon RCD-M35DAB

Denon have talked me through various button combinations to try and resolve this without success.

Anybody got any ideas on what the problem might be?

The CD tray won't open on my Denon, and there doesn't appear to be a button on the remote. I've tried various combinations of turning off and on, and pressing buttons in different but can't get it to respond. It seems to me that it's a software problem. I have another Denon (MD35) and the volume control on the actual device doesn't work. As soon as you twist it, the volume shoots up to . The only way I can change volume is via the remote.

There are tthere are two transparent plastic switches under the tray
there (a gray plastic piece, intcasing the loading motor is nonot rotated enough, not allowing the necessry pressure on the switch.
you must in either case disassemble the reading module comprising the tray, otics annd spindle, so you gain access to the underside of it, from ence coperatrepositioning the tray or the lrotating the trigger\eloading motor.

sorry for the typos...i wasn't actually seeing while typing.
again: there are two switches under the tray- on the right sits the opening switch - if the unit endured a fall or similar, the tray may be tooo upfront.
on the left, the closing switch, wich also commands the positioning of the reading spindle and optics-again in case the unit fell (or caused by usage and wear) the position of the trigger that activates the switch is wrong, ussually too far to make contact. this trigger is easily identified, consisting of a gray plastic extension atop the loading motor, connected to a a gear system, and through it, to the tray.
you symply have to rotate it to the correct position, though it may be tricky to syncronize it to the spindle motor. try and error mo.
in either case, you must gain access to the underside of the tray, wich requires you to disassemble it.
hope this helps, worked fine with me, after a few hours fiddling with the apparatus.

Well if you want to DIY you should open the coves, spay some oil on the mechanics and ensure they are running smoothly, if you spray grease on lens you will damage it, be careful.

The tray will not open/eject on either deck; it tries to open but just says TOC no disk.

I have the same problem with both trays on a Sony RCD-W3 not ejecting. If you push the tray sometimes it opens, but takes a few attempts. the recording CD sometimes doesn't see the disk but ejecting and re-entering it normally gets around that. I have no permanent solution, I'm afraid. Probably needs to be opened up and rails greased/oiled or something like that.

I have the Denon CDR-W1500 recorder and the recording side no longer functions. It doesn't have that many hours of use. The tray doesn't recognize a blank cd but both sides will playback discs. Your help...

Your original post said it was blank discs that didn't work.

Now it's ALL discs including pre-recorderd ones. THAT changes things considerably.

Is it audibly rotating the disc once it's loaded?

Denon CD player DCD 920. When using the open/close button once, the CD-door opens but when it is open, without any waiting time, it immediately closes again. If i operate manually the open/close switch on...

Off the power, and plug off the switch, and try opening it manually. DO NOT force open it. I don't think it would close back since it has no electricity already.

Denon DCM-280. Tray won't open, there are CDs in

If you don't wanna send it for service, open the chassis of the player and free the CDs from the tray. Its highly likely that the CDs came off the trays and got stuck inside.

Cd tray opening and closing all the time

Dear friend, my sony dvd drive tray opens and closes itself, it is mostly a problem related to hardware. in my case I removed the IDE Data cable connected to the dvd drive and reconnected it again. now my dvd drive works well, I think the problem was the IDE data cable, may be a loose contact.due to this loose cantact,a jung signal goes to the dvd drive, which opens and closes the tray frequently without our knowledge.

Denon CD door jammed

If you are comfortable taking the cover off, you can try removing the cover and then try to help the tray out the same time you are hitting OPEN/Close.
IF you are not comfortable removing the cover then, you can try to take a credit card (Actually, if you have any of those JUNK credit cards that the CC companies send out as trial offers, those work the best, and who cares if you bend those, they get tossed anyway) and bend an edge at a 90 degree.. (about 1/8" of the edge) so it makes like a small ledge. try to fit it inbetween the top of the door, and then see if you can open it up. Some players have a seperate door, and some trays are attached to the door. You might be able to help it out or unjam the tray this way.
And in the Future, with any other CD/DVD Players, use your remote control or the open and close button to open and close the tray, and NEVER Push on the tray itself. If I had a dollar for every dvd player tray that Ive fixed because of this, I would be buying bill gates dinner. (not really, but you get my point)
Good luck.
