Question about LG KC910 Renoir Cell Phone

1 Answer

Hi! The sound of my KC910 microphone is always turned off. I hear a person during a conversation but the other person don't. I know there are some modifications that can be done in the Sound Section ( thru 3845#*910#) but I don't know what parameter(s) should be modified. Do you have the values?

Hi,

If you can hear and he can't then its microphone problem.Your microphone may be defective or soldering could have been loosened. You have re solder or replace it.It cost very less.It is located at the bottom of the phone.

Any way since you have asked for the settings here it is:
dial: 3845#*910#
Go to:
2 Device Test
8 Sound
7 Audio Cal Tool
7 Dolby Calibration
1 Change Setting Value

Pick your device (Dolby_Speaker, Dolby_Headset or Dolby_BT) and start changing parameters: Click on Set Data, put something in there, e.g. 0003 or 3 are the same) and press OK to update "Current Data. It's very straightforward, once you are there.

Parameters:

HFE_ENABLE:1; High frequency Effect . Can be 0 (off) of 1 (on)
HFE_DEPTH:5; High frequency effect . How much of HFE do you want:
0= off, 1 low, 8 highest.
From 9 on it's repetition, so 9 gives you the same depth as 1, etc.

SSH: Sound Space for Headphones = kind of widening/ improving the stereo field. It's not Mobile Surround
SSH_ENABLE:1; Sound Space for Headphones . Can be 0 (off) of 1 (on)
SSH_MODE:3; Sound Space for Headphones Mode 1-3
The mode sets how big the space is.
1=small, 2=moderate, 3=wide
After this it seems to repeat again, so 4=1, 5=2 etc.

Sound Level Controller = basically a compressor, which is very much needed when in a noisy surrounding, train, street, car with noisy engine etc.
SLC_ENABLE:1; Sound Level Controller . Can be 0 (off) of 1 (on)
SLC_LEVEL:5; Sound Level Controller Level : range of this parameter is unknown
SLC_DEPTH:1; Sound Level Controller : range of this parameter is unknown

NB:Natural Bass. This is basically a compressor especially for bass.
NB_ENABLE:1; Natural Bass . Can be 0 (off) of 1 (on)
NB_CUTOFF:18; Natural Bass range of this parameter is unknown
NB_BOOST:5; Natural Bass range of this parameter is unknown
NB_LEVEL:3; Natural Bass range of this parameter is unknown

The default settings are very conservative, you can make it work much more powerful, esp. with SLC.

Defaults (Dolby Speaker):

HFE_ENABLE: 0001
HFE_DEPTH: 0005
SSH_ENABLE: 0000
SSH_MODE: 0000
SLC_ENABLE: 0001
SLC_LEVEL: 0003
SLC_DEPTH: 0001
NB_ENABLE: 0001
NB_CUTOFF: 0018
NB_BOOST: 0005
NB_LEVEL: 0003

Defaults (Dolby_Headset):

HFE_ENABLE: 0000
HFE_DEPTH: 0000
SSH_ENABLE: 0001
SSH_MODE: 0004
SLC_ENABLE: 0000
SLC_LEVEL: 0000
SLC_DEPTH: 0000
NB_ENABLE: 0001
NB_CUTOFF: 0007
NB_BOOST: 0002
NB_LEVEL: 0000

Defaults (Dolby_BT):

HFE_ENABLE: 0000
HFE_DEPTH: 0000
SSH_ENABLE: 0001
SSH_MODE: 0004
SLC_ENABLE: 0000
SLC_LEVEL: 0000
SLC_DEPTH: 0000
NB_ENABLE: 0001
NB_CUTOFF: 0007
NB_BOOST: 0002
NB_LEVEL: 0000

Iphone 4 mic

Not sure if this is the same as your Problem, but
I once had a problem with an iPhone where the person at the other end was responding, but they couldn't hear me. I Think the rain got into the microphone hole on outside of the phone during a severe storm & I needed urgentt help cause of the rivers flooding around me. (NorthWest Oz).
Murphy's Law - a phone will always break down when you need it the most!
As a temporary fix, I simply switched over to the speaker phone. The other person could now hear me OK.
(Use the hands free switch on the screen to turn the speaker on)
The iPhone has 2 microphones and it appears that only 1 was functional. It uses the second microphone in it's noise cancelling circuit. I guess it compares one input to the other to cancel background noise.
Anyhow, the iPhone came right the next day after drying out.
Hope This Proves Helpful to Others as well

I can here the recipiant - they can hear me and we can both see the videos?? Any ideas?

Can you hear anything. iTunes, other sounds? Have you tried different people. There are 2 things I thought of for this problem. 1, the other person is the same person all the time and they have muted their microphone. 2, you cannot hear anything on your system which could be mute, or a driver problem or a problem that can sometimes occur with the headphone jack port. For #1, have the other person try to record something or go to System Preferences and select sound, and make sure the microphone shows gain when they talk, and make sure the microphone is turned up (see picture for this one.) #2 You can try to unmute in the same system preferences, you can also check to make sure your sound system is working in the same preferences. If it is a headphone jack issue, I would plug in and out head phones into the jack until you can hear something (make sure you can hear through the headphones before this, if the headphones give no sound then don't do this.) Other than those items it would have to be a call apple issue. jp_2010_0.jpg

What is dynamike gain cotrol on a cobra cb radio

Dynamike Gain Control varies the microphone sensitivity. When set fully clockwise, it is very sensitive - and will be able to "hear" background noises easily. This position also can cause your voice to be distorted or garbled when approaching maximum under the right conditions as well as causing "bleed over" to adjacent channels. When set to minimum, you will need to speak clearly and directly into the microphone to be heard. Most people find a setting somewhere in the middle works best.

You should adjust the level to suit those that are listening to you by asking them if it sounds OK. This prevents them from having to turn their volume down whenever you speak. In a "one-to-one" conversation it is not as noticeable. The trouble comes when 3 or more are conversing. The third person's audio may be low or normal - and the listeners set their radio's volume so that they can hear that person easily. Then you transmit with booming mic audio and everyone scrambles to turn down the volume to save their ears / speakers. This can be very frustrating for the others having to constantly adjust the radio volume whenever you speak.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks.

Nokia E65 microphone doesn't work

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Did you accidentally dropped the Nokia E65? Well, on this error, you shoudl bring your unit to a service center to further check the hardware error such as the microphone. However, be sure that whenever you make calls you have the network signal high so that you can have quality voice calls.

If you need further assistance, let me know

dear fixya,

greetings.

thank you for your e-mail. however, i decided not to use the headset anymore since my webcam has already built-in microphone. i think eventhough i will use the headset, the problem regarding the noise during conversation will not go away. i think think is really the part of on-line chatting.

thank you and more power to fixya team.

Sound problems

You must go into the Tools Option where you sign in on MSN Messenger and change the microphone/speaker settings there. It is at the top of the window where you can see your status and all your contacts listed...the window that comes up upon "Sign In".

These override any settings you may have changed in the control panel.

Yes...it works with Windows Vista.
