Sounds like it is 'going thermal.' Use a portable fan to aim air at vents in the housing. If this cures or delays the problem, then an integrated circuit is probably dying. Isolating which one may be possible, but some devices which placed and soldered by robots can't be replaced by hand so this generally causes an entire board to be removed and replaced.
