I found a solution for the LG KU990 Viewty touchscreen not responding problem. After thinking about twisting my phone, I came up with another solution which actually works every time. The touchscreen works via layers of plastic that when contact is made, a signal is triggered from the coordinates of the contact. However, when the phone has pressure, these layers of plastic stick together somehow. So, to fix it.... Get a small strip of adhesive tape that will not leave a sticky residue on your screen. Apply that tape in several spots on the surface of the screen, and lift it away from the phone with light pressure. Repeat this in several areas of the screen. That's it. You're done. Your screen should function properly. Simply recalibrate the touchscreen at this point in your settings menu. I hope it helps everyone with any type of touchscreen. I know it helped me. The touchscreen phones are totally useless using only the hard keys!

Have you put anything on the phone other than the protective film? did you put it in a leather case that has a thick plastic covering it? was it pressed against something? did it get magnetized? if so, then that might be the problem. cause it says in the manual that putting anything over the LCD screen, sitting on it or having it near any strong magnetic field might render the touch panel useless.
restarting and or replacing the leather case might do the trick but for the "big ones" you need to send it back for repairs.

If the touch screen suddenly stops working.. you should restart the phone. It is troublesome.. I know..

If the touchscreen is not really working ever after re-booting the phone. then you must return it from where you got it. That is totaly un acceptable..
be sure to apply a bit of pressure also. Viewty is not as sensitive as Iphone.

I have to hit touch pad 3-4 times to work when doing anything Dell Inspiron 1501

Make sure you have the latest touchpad driver from support.dell.com, then in the touchpad settings (Control panel, Mouse, touchpad tab) adjust the sensitivity.
If adjusting the sensitivity has no effect then it may just be wearing out, which would mean a palmrest replacement. Those are around $20

Asus touch pad too sensitive

There should be settings in the touch pad software on your machine or in the task bar that you can directly access to change all manner of personal idiosyncrasies related to HID. (Human interface device) Try also going into the control panel and looking for input devices, mouse, touchpad and adjusting the settings from within there.

Acer aspire touchpad over sensitive

Hi,
Your laptop should have software pre-installed for your touchpad. This should probably be in the Control Panel. Once you find the software there should be options to change the sensitivity. Hope I helped.

I don't know if you mean that your cursor suddenly moves as you are typing? If so, it is likely your touch pad is too sensitive. I have a mouse w/mouse pad but never disabled the touch pad. So i disabled the touch pad and it solved it for me. If you want to be sure it is the touch pad being over sensitive, then type a paragraph but keep your fingers and palms far away from the touch pad. If the problem improves, like it did for me, then the touchpad is too sensitive. You can go into the settings for the touchpad to change the sensitivity setting to make it less senstive and see if that works and it does not then press Fn +F7 keys to disable the touchpad.

Sensitive touch pad

Hi, click on start and control panel. go to mouse properties. Try to look for a tab that says either touch or touchpad. you can change the sensitivity settings there. however if this doesnt work, this could only mean that this is a physical problem with the toucpad. try to apply pressure on the outer side of the touchpad. if it moves, you're gonna need a replacement palmrest.
