Question about Garden

My baracuda x7 stays in the deep end of the pool. The deep end is 11 feet, the shallow is 4 feet deep. I had to add 3 extra hose sections. I moved the weight, varied the suction pressure, adjusted the water inlet jets..did not correct..if I start the Baracuda in the shallow end, it imediately goes to the deep end. I watch the Baracuda and it seems to always turn in a counter clockwise pattern

If you read my complaint about the problem you would know that I did all that you suggested. I moved the weight from the suggested position, changed flow rate, re positioned my output flow jets...everything that I could think of. Your reply is what is in the manual

I am really displeased with the answers you have given me. Example, taking sections of the hose and plugging into a skimmer at the shallow end is not a solution. If you had read my initial problem you would realize that I had to ADD 3 sections of hose so the thing could reach all the way to the end of the shallow end. There is only 1 skimmer and it is at the deep end

This is a review of the unit from automaticpoolcleaners8.co.cc:
my baracuda x7 stays in - ico_customer_reviews.gif
"I easily recommend this cleaner" 2010-08-13
By Cynthia L. Warren (kansas)
I had an easy time setting this up and I am a stickler for following instructions to the letter. I was very pleased when it started chugging around the pool and sucking up all that was in it's path. I am thrilled with how it climbs the walls - the slopes and the vertical walls alike. I have not had any problems with it getting stuck on the stairs. It just goes around them and doesn't clean them so I just brush them and that's that. I had a little trouble with it cleaning the shallow end. I simply took several sections out of the hose and plugged it into the skimmer in the shallow end of the pool and that made all the difference. It is amazing at how clear my pool water has been since I bought the X7. It has been a very hot summer and I have had no issues with algae. This is the easiest summer I have had with my pool in over 20 years.
Sounds like that might be the fix. Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Hi,
If the Baracuda is not covering the entire pool and gets stuck in one place.
Check for the following:
1. Use the flow gauge to verify the proper flow.
2. Ensure return fitting are directed down.Add a return diverter if necessary
3.Make sure the hose is not coiled or kinked. Lay in the sun to starighten it
4. Verify correct hose weight positioning :29 inches(1m) from the cleaner body
5.Confirm proper hose length.
6. Use the flow gauge as guide and reduce the flow to number 2 settings.

Its most likely caused due a wrong weight positioning.

Check the user manual on the following link for additional help.

My pool is 16feet wide by 32 long 10 feet deep what is the square footage

What you looking to know?

Square feet suggests a flat area, like the floor plan of the pool, which would be 16 x 32 = 512 square feet. Like you'd measure walls for tiles or paper etc.

As you've given 3 dimensions, sounds like your after the cubic capacity/volume of the pool, in which case your looking at cubic feet (same as flat area above, but with the added depth to go from flat 2d, to 3d (2 vs 3 dimensions)), which would be 16 x 32 x 10 = 5,120 cubic feet.

My kreepy krauly wont clean the deep end of the swimming pool.

Your situation is unusual in that most of the time these will stay in the deep end and not get to the shallow end. Make sure that your hose is the proper length and the hose weights are in the right positions

Up to 4 feet water, 1 weight at one foot away from Kreepy
4-7 feet water, add a second weight at 6 feet from Kreepy
7-12 feet water add a third weight at 10 feet from Kreepy.

It can take some trial and error to get the Kreepy to cover the whole pool. This includes adding or removing hose sections, and adjusting the pool return "eyeballs" to different directions.

New navigator stays in deep end 99% of time, comes to shallow end, turns around & goes back to deep end

If your filter is placed toward the deep end of your pool, it could be that the pool cleaners hose is too short to reach the shallow end. You might want to test it and add more hose if necessary. It could also be a steering failure. There are a couple things to check if this is happening. Check and clean the rear screen. Make sure that your cone gear is free and rotates smoothly. You might also need to clean, repair, or replace your gearbox.

My barracuda stays in the deep end and will not move to the shallow end of the pool

You probably just need to redirect the returns in the pool. If they are angled right (or wrong) they will get a current moving in the pool and cause the cleaner to go to one spot and keep it in just that area of the pool.

Try moving the water inlets around. Down the wall if you can. They will set a current in the pool the cleaner with floating hoses can't over come. If you don't have eyeball returns you can get diverters to do this for you. That should fix your problem.

Baracuda X7 stays at the deep end of the pool

With these pool cleaners, there are several things that you can try to get your cleaner to move around your pool. Check to make sure the hose is long enough to reach all ends of the pool and that it has proper hose balance. Check the return line water flow and redirect as necessary with an eyeball diverter.
