I installed a toolbar which was supposedly to enable me to watch live tv and now safari won't connect to the internet, but Firefox is working fine. I have uninstalled the toolbar, but still nothing is working.

Re-install Safari.
Safari is a low rated one compared with chrome and Firefox. So I suggest you to switch to other browser.

From what I know this error can be caused by a bad plugin or a toolbar you may have installed. Try disabling any new plugins or toolbars and see if the error stops. If not try disabling all plugins/toolbars and enabling them one by one until the error happens again.

Each browser you have on your computer has different homepages. You may need to set the homepage manually. As for an unwanted toolbar you can remove those by going to view>toolbars and unselecting the toolbar or right clicking on the browser background and unselecting the toolbar.
