-   I have same problem. Cnet forums has a ton of users with this problem and their suggestion is to call Canon and don't give up until you get 100% free repair. Many Canon cameras have had CCD sensor problems but the A610 is not listed as part of it. I called for first time today and got a supervisor who kept repeating it's not the same problem as other cameras. Calling back tomorrow. I will not let go until get free repair for a problem that many others are having. Go ahead and Google A610 CCD sesnor problem to find the cnet forum. There is also a great post on Amazon.-   amim

-   The LCD screen works & I can view previously taken pictures. The screen went black - not completely black - it's like really dark "snow" - while I was taking pictures. New pictures come out completely black. It's like the CCD isn't working all of a sudden. I saw this exact same problem listed for a 3100 with info saying there was a known problem. I think this is the SAME problem. Will Nikon fix it for free as they will with the 3100???-   craigbear
