Question about HP PhotoSmart 7550 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP 7550 PhotoSmart Printer prints photos with an unpleasant green hue.

Photos are printed with an inaccurate pale green hue. This happens whether printing from either the computer or from the memory card in the printer.

I have exactly the same problem. the green haze seems uniform over the images.

I have the same problem.  I've recently replaced all three cartridges.  I tried printing gray scale, and it was worse yet!  (My children looked like aliens!).  Printing a gray scale photo using only the black cartridge produced a nice B& W print.

Same green problem. It prints great when using regular/copy paper, but when using photo papter (no matter what brand or type) it prints green. I've deleted and reinstalled the driver many times and it once did fix it long enough to print one job, but then it came right back. The only way is to "trick" it to print in full color spectrum is to put a piece of regular/copy paper on top of the photo paper and ask it to print 2 copies. Then you get a fantastic print job. But what a waste of ink! and what a headache!!

Me too.. I've been having this exact same problem on my HP 1510xi all-in-one. It started 2-3 days ago, right after I changed the color cartridge. I've had the printer for over a year & prior to this, I've never had an issue. I have tried cleaning the cartridge, aligning it, & using different brands of photo paper (both HP & Kodak).. they all still come out very green. I checked all of my printing settings & everything is set correctly. On a test print, I printed a photo on regular paper, which came out perfectly normal. Without closing the print box, I clicked "BACK" and reprinted the exact same photo on HP photo paper... it printed green.

Has anyone had any luck with a fix?

    Thanks!!

I have exactly the same problem. Was printing a 100-photo job and halfway through, all images turned green. All cartridges have plenty of ink. I cleaned and aligned printheads. No change. Then I inserted a photo in to a Word document and printed on copy paper. Looks fine. This is extremely annoying.

If it's a B&W or sepia photo, and you wanted to print B&W or grayscale anyway, pull the color cartridge (assuming a 2 cartridge system). I did that with my HP DJ 5440 and it works perfectly.

Assuming a 2 cartridge system, and you want B&W or sepia, pull the color cartridge and print away! Works for my HP DJ 5440.

I have a Canon IP 1800 PIMXMA printer. I'm not

What paper are you using.
Use canon paper and EZphoto print .
Tou will be amazed .
These printers mix the 3 colors to make a black in photos.
So if you have shadows or black in the photos they will lack contrast

HP Photosmart 7550 - Full Page Photo Printing Jams at end

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Hp photosmart 7350

The 7550 takes three cartridges 56(black) 57(tri-color) and 58 (photo).

If you replace the 57 but the 58 is also empty and still in its slot - you get green tinted photos.

So, check to see if you have the 58 photo cartridge still installed, and if it is out of ink. If so - remove the 58 - the printer will then default to "reserve mode" and you'll get better color.
