Try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty
good luck

Foxconn p4m800p7ma-rs2 motherboard on Gforce FX5500 system halted

You refer to Master/Slave disks. Are you actually using the Master/Slave jumper settings? Must motherboards and OSs today recommend putting the disks in the CABLE SELECT jumper setting. The problem with the old Master/Slave setting is that the Controller on the Master Disk is used to control the Slave disk as well. This can lead to problems when disks are made by different manufacturers, as sometimes they are not fully compatible. In CABLE SELECT, each disk controller works independently.

Head over to the Foxconn download support center.
Then search by product model:
In the first box select Motherboards.
In the second box select Socket 775.
And in the third box select P4M800P7MA-RS2.

Then click search.
It will now bring up all the available drivers for this motherboard.
