Question about Brother XL-2600

1 Answer

Have a new Brother 1250 Embroidery / Sewing Machine. I have the tension on 3, my thread breaks often and I have broken 5 needles just this week. I have used different thread, rethreaded carefully but do not know whatelse to do. Could it be the tension setting? Also, the bobbin came out and cannot determine from the instruction book just how it is attached. Any pictures or help on this is also appreciated.

The tension for embriodery should be very light. also, there are needles just for embroidery, which have a bigger eye so the thread goes though easier.

could be a dull or bent needle. Could also be a burr on your hook. Try changing the needle first. If it's a burr on the hook or the needle plate, you have to take it to a tech for maintenance

The top thread keeps breaking. The thread pulls tight and breaks. I have removed a broken thread piece from the upper take-up lever, rethreaded (several times), cleaned out bobbin, moved thread spool on...

try a tension a 3 to 5 on the top tension
try changing to a needle or if it's a new needle make sure the flat side of the needle faces the back of the machine and pushed all the way up into the needle holder
make sure the needle & thread are correct for each other, if the needle is to thin or to heavy for the fabric it will not work

Cotton breaks on Brother Embroidery Galaxie 2100 machine

Try turning down your top tension setting a bit. If its at 4 or 5, i would turn it down to about 3 ish. Cotton thread is more brittle than polyester and rayon thread.

Hope that helps :)

What brand leather needles are you using? Keep machine out of Sun ok. All leather needs to be in cool or room temperature. try loosening bottom tension just alittle or top tension, I would start with bottom......I also use commercial polyester thread when doing tougher materials..

Make sure that your needle is put in the correct way, there is a groove in the front of the needle, check with your finger nail, this is usually to be facing you, and make sure the thread is going through the tension holder correctly do not have the foot down when you are threading the machine,as this stops the thread from going through the needle tension holder.

Brothers pe150 embroidery machine will not sew

If you tighten up your needle thread, reduce the tension of the needle thread.
For embroidery, and zig-zag, and because the needle makes side movements, it needs more needle thread.
So try to keep you needle thread not very tight,
and tight up your bobbin case tension more, so that the two threads meet under the meterial.
