Question about Ricoh Office Equipment & Supplies
Hi to all of you!
this is the pain in the *** problems that come , from time to time to tech men. But in the very end it has an (easy) fix. Ventilator from fusion section has, somehow, carried toner dust to right door microswitches (3 in a row)! If you are a proper handymen, disassembly; autom doc feeder, scan plate, and bridge unit
then, you get access to the fusion fan, and 3 microswitches. disassemble them, merge them in a flask with benzin an shake them hard. dry them! reverse the procedure. Job done. i,ve done this several times in diff machines, always ending well. Try also ti identify the origin of toner leak, otherwise... you know thw answer!

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

I believe the "relay Unit" on that machine is the section that transports copies to either the finisher (if installed) or the exit tray on the LEFT side of that machine. Sometimes neither of these units are present, but the relay unit may still be installed.
There are 2 flip up covers on that section (left and right), and you will probably see that one of them (usually the left one) has come unclipped, or perhaps the plastic clip that holds it closed is broken. If you flip up this unit. You will see a black button at the back end that is engaged when ther unit is closed. If you simply pree this button with your finger, hopefully the message will go away - this may at least help you troubleshoot what is causing the "cover open" message). Even if the clip is broken, it is often just a matter of seating the unit correctly so that the switch is engaged when the unit is closed. There is also the same switch on the right cover that could be causing the problem, but this cover doesn't sem to get damged as often.
I hope this helps. Please let me know.

I am pretty hopeful I can help you as I have similar service calls for this problem. I'm not sure why it happens but apparently during the course of clearing a paper jam there is a paper guide that is easily popped out of position. And even though the right hand jam clearance doors will indeed close and latch properly, the paper guide keeps the the door from satisfying the the switch that tells the copier the door is closed. So, you may need to lie down to see to see this properly but open the lower right jam clearance door (doors if you have the optional paper trays 3&4) and inspect the black paper guides that are exposed now as they are attached to the copier and not the door. The black guides are hinged and when properly seated will pivot/swing easily and will be perfectly square/perpendicular to the copier. There are holes in the frame of the copier that these guides pivot in and if one of these guides has accidentally been popped out of position then the outer door cannot depress the white button located at the upper right hand corner of the jam clearance area.Look closely as it it may not be obvious wthout knowing what to look for, as you do now :-) Gently bend the guide back into position till it locks and you will see the white actuator become available to the pressure of the closing of the door. Hope this helps. :->

Testimonial: "Hi Sir thank you so much for the advice, after close observation i found that the push switch for the right door was broken. Thanks again Chief."
SOURCE: ricoh 350 says doors/cover open
you can check the front door switches and the fuser switches, if the problem continuos maybe the laser unit has a problem, because the energy supply cross by swtches and the laser unit before closet the circuit. or you can check the 24 volts circuit has a problem.

If in the control panel don't show any places or any door, change the switches on the front cover area and the switches of the fuser area. If the problem continuos check the laser area.
