The ERC did not get wet when we had the spill. The water went under the burner on the side opposit the ERC. Would this have caused a short in the ERC?

If you new the first aid after the water overflow were to remove power electrical plug. Leave it dry out for some days or remove the cover abouv ERC and dry it out with a hair dryer.
Now we it seems it litle late since you have a small short on the ERC but litle is enough for this crazy responce and the need of replacing it. Unfortunatly is the most expensive part on your oven around $200,.

There is simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

However your model incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.
Sorry for the bad news, take care

GE Range JSP68 shuts off while preheating

I have an aging JSP68. First, take out the range control (held in by just a couple of screws, disect it, clean it the best you can, dry it. Be careful not to break it because there is no replacement. Pay special attention to the membrane buttons. They tend to stick. Realize the broiler element turns on sporadically to reach the set temp quickly, the bake element should be solid on. Check the "header" (the long double strip of pins) connecting the range control. I had to resolder mine. Another insult was that I baked a bread recipe that required you put water in the oven to generate steam. The steam made this oven literally go bonkers. The relays started to chatter and just a half minute of this will destroy them. Also when you press bake keep it pressed for a few seconds while adjusting the temp to 170 then release. If you don't hear the bake relay click on, try again. Another thing you could try is to press all of the buttons once, this should help to unstick them if any are stuck.

How come the broiler is working and the oven is not?

When you select oven setting do the oven element and the broiler come on at the same time? If they do and the oven is not working the oven element is probably blown or there is burnt wiring at the element terminals.

I need an owner manuel for Caloric Range Model # EST 345 I can'g figure out how to run the self cleaning oven cycle.

you might try the following, although it is the instructions for an old model, it may be relevant;

"The actual self-cleaning process is initiated by a simple 5 step procedure: 1. Set the range clock to time of day. Note: on models not equipped with an automatic oven timer, the self-cleaning cycle is preprogrammed for a 21/2 hour cycle. Use Steps 3, 4 and 5 only. 2.Establish the length of cleaning time by:
A. Setting the start time. Press and turn the start dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired starting time. B. Set the stop time. Press and turn the stop dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired stop time. Max time is 3 hours miniumum 1/12 hours. 3. Set the oven selector dial on the control panel to "Clean" 4. Set the temperature control dial to "off". If you temperature control dial has a "Clean" position, then set the dial to "Clean" instead of "Off". 5. Remove oven racks, broiler pan and broiler grid from lower oven. Close and lock the oven door by moving the latch lever as far right as it will go - into the locked position. If the lever is accidently dislodged restore it to the locked position. Otherwise, the self-cleaning process will not take place. Shortly after the cleaning cycle has begun, the oven temperatur reaches a degree in excess of the normal broiling temperature. The red "Clean" light will come on and the clean cycle will start. In a few minutes the door lock lever, which you have placed in the locked position, will automatically be secured to prevent the oven door from beging opened during the cleaning cycle. This latch remains locked until the clean cycle is complete and the oven temperature reduces to normal baking and broiling temperaturs. NOTE: Prior to self cleaning cycle operation, the oven and surface lights must be turned offed. The upper oven can be used."

Caloric gas stove prestige series

to jenna 12 Does your stove have a stop and start timer? When you set your clock you may have inadvertantly moved the stop or start time on that timer. Check them, if they have knobs for setting the stop and start time, make sure the pointer is pointing to the current time and that the knob is popped out and not stuck in. when you have it right both the stop and the start knob should be out, not pushed in. They will pop out when you turn them to the current time.

These timers allow you to start something cookin at a time delayed several hours. this means they will not allow the oven to come on until it hits that time that you may have set in error.

If your stove has a digital stop and start timer check each one so that both show the current time, then your oven should light.

Oven/Broiler fails th heat

Sounds like a bimetal switch is blown. first I would check SWITCH LIMIT BIMETAL next the LIMIT SWITCH-UPPER(LOCK) Too check them first trip the breaker so you don't have power to the oven, then you will have to take the oven out of the wall..next remove the top cover. then in the center-front there are two round bimetal switchs with two wires coming out of them..remove the wires and check them with an ohm meter both should have continuity across them ...if no continuity you have a bad switch. let me know what you find out..
