Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My hp 6110 has a flashing exclamation mark and says "Remove and check cartridge". I have removed and replaced both cartridges several times but the light stays on and the message still appears. HELP!

Hi

remove cartridges
get a peper towel
and clean metal contacts of cartridges
and the metal contact of cartridge carrier
if the error insist
you need to replace with new ones

A flashing exclamation mark is typically associated with a sever cartridge error (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem" etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #901 / 901XL cartridge are damaged. Have you tried replacing the ink cartridge with a new HP genuine cartridge to confirm?

NOTE: The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on all models which use HP 901 cartridges. Changed cartridge in printer few weeks back - took several attempts to get cartridges to align afterwards. Now say to remove and check cartridge (appears to be problem with colour cartridge!). When put...


It might mean that your cartridge has become demagnetized. That happened to me and I had to replace the cartridge. The little brass covering at the front of the cartridge is very delicate and can become demagnetized if handled incorrectly. You can buy refurbished ones on line and they are not as expensive, but that is entirely up to you. Good luck.

Hello,

Remove the cartridge and use a damp paper towel, wipe the bottom of the cartridge several times. Each time you wipe you should be getting black streaks on the paper towel. After manually cleaning the cartridge nozzles you will need to use a new tower and wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge. When this is done reinstall it and run a cleaning and then an alignment procedure from the printer software. You should be printing good again.

Cartridge


Sometimes just removing the cartridge from the printer and putting it back in can solve these problems. Open the printer and remove and reinsert all print cartridges. Make sure they are secured tightly and close the lid. The cartridges may need to be replaced.

I resolved the "remove and check cartridge" issue after reading the instructions at the above address. Most importantly, I replaced both cartridges and the problem was resolved.
The color cartridge appeared to be the issue. It had been in for months and used infrequently.

have you tries inserting new set of ink cartridge???

try this...

> unplug the power chord.
> remove the rear access door.
> check for any jammed paper. if so remove it.
> clean the rollers using a lint free cloth.
> close the rear access door.
> keep pressing the on button for 20 seconds
> plug the power chord.
> try to copy

if no go

> unplug the power chord while it is turned on
> remove the cartridges
> press and hold the ok and cancel button at the same time.
> while holding them insert the power chord, and wait for few seconds and then release your hands.
> when it asks for the ink cartridge, insert them ad check.

Printer stuck on error message "Remove and check cartridge."


Remove and check what? With the machine off see if you can slide the printhead left to right freely. Make sure nothing is interfering with it. Also check and make sure there is not a paper jam any where.
