Question about D-Link AirPlus Xtreme® G DI-624 Wireless Router

DI 624 Wireless Broadband Router

I have a DI 624 Wireless Broadband Router. Tonight my internet is still working but I have lost all of my printers. My cable modem is plugged into a Linksys Broadband Router from AT&T for phone service. The D-Link is then linked to the Linksys and my printers come off of that. Currently the D-Link has no light for status or power and all the lights are lit up for the 4 ports even though one printer is turned off and there is nothing plugged into another. Do I need a new modem? I've tried using a different ethernet cable between the two routers to see if the cable went bad but that doesn't help and it doesn't explain why all the status lights are on for each port. Can you help please?

diagram correct. MAC 10.4 operating system. D-Link connected to 2 HP printers. AT&T connects to Linksys and DLink connects to computer (G3 tower) and printers. The tower is wired in with ethernet for connection and I have a G4 laptop that connects wirelessly. I can still connect to the internet but not the default network where my printers are. I don't understand - it's all worked fine for years until a couple of hours ago - did the modem die? Do I need a new DLink? How can I tell?

On the back or bottom of your Dlink there is a reset button. Press that in and hold it in for a 20 second count. The Dlink should find your printers again.

So- Red - First of all don't rate yet. This will probably take a couple notes. So, let me make sure I've got this straight:
AT&T
V
V
Modem>>>>Linksys>>>>DLink( no status or pwr lt)
v v
ptr ptr

Is this crude diagram about right? Are the ptrs wired or wireless?
How many pcs? Wired or wireless? Getting their ip from which router? Linksys model #? Operating systems?

I asked you not to rate yet. After we fx it then you can rate.

My diagram was not the way I typed it. The printers come off the DLink. What I would try firdt is power cycling the Dlink. Unplug for about 60 seconds then plug it in. Let me know the results. Thanks

You need to power cycle your devices. Make sure the modem is connected to the WAN port of your router and your PC to port 1. Unplug the power to the router and modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Turn on the modem first, wait for the lights to be solid, then turn on the router. That should do it.

Router does'nt work . I can get online when I connect directly to the cable service and bypass the router, but when I plug the the ethernet cable into the router, I can't get wireless service.

Dear Werstellar,
Try resetting the router back into default, you can do that by holding the reset button on the back of your router for 30 seconds the uplug the power,
Once done connect a cable from a LAN port to your PC and connect the Ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN port of your DI-624.
Open your internet browser and type 192.168.0.1 the log into your router.
you can either run the wizard or go straight to manual configuration.
for manual configuration connection type : choose DHCP.
and then click on clone my Mac address. once this is done click save and reboot.
then log back to your router by typing 192.168.0.1 into your internet browser and go to wireless set up under encryption choose WPA as it is more secure and then type your network ID (This will be a password for your wireless network and it has to be a minimum of 8 DIgits or letters or a combination of both.
once done go to system from the menu and choose save and reboot.
Now unplug the power for both modem and router, then plug the power for your modem first wait few minutes until all the lights on your modem are up then power up your DI-624 give it few minutes and you should be able to go online on both wired and wireless connection.
any more help just ask

D-Link connect to comcast

connect the the ethernet cable to the WAN port of the modem.

the connection should be:
One end of the cable is connected to the modem and the other should be connected at the WAN port of the modem.

Now use another Ethernet cable plug it in on the LAN port1 and the other end to your computer.

Access the configuration page of your router and set the wireless setting inside your DI-624 router.

Can I piggyback a wireless router onto a hard-wired router?

Yes, you can connect the DI-624 to your exitsing EBR-2310, you just need to connect the a cable from port 4 of the EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624, then after that you can already use now the wireless to your laptop and also the wired router to your desktops.
But I may suggest you to just replace the EBR-2310 with the DI-624 so you will only be using 1 router that can cater your laptop and also your desktop, Just connect the cable from your modem that is conencted now to your EBR-2310 to the internet/wan port of the DI-624 then run the setup CD that should be it.

Hope that helps...........

Di-624 stopped working

Hi sailaway!
. Make sure the router is going from the modem, to the port marked WAN, on the 624. You can test the cable, by plugging it directly into you computer, from the modem, if you want to. Disconnect the power from your modem, your router, and turn off your computer Wait 1 min. Turn on the Router, wait three full min's. Power up the 624, and wait one min. Power up the PC. Reason for the long wait on the modem is that it has to get data from the internet, to give to the router. If that don't hwlp, try changing the cable from the PC to the router, to a different port. If all that don't work, try resetting the router by gentley pressing a straightened out paperclip into the reset hole in the back. Hold it for 30 sec. If that fail resetting it, try holding it in while you unplug the 624 and plug it back in. If it resets, go thru the first steps to set it up again. If all that fails, your 624 may be bad. Had that happen to me. The steps I listed brought it back to life for about 2 months, and it died completely. Good Luck!

Might I suggest that you reset the router to its default configuration by pressing and holding the reset button until it reboots. This way you will be dealing with the default configuration. Then try to use it. Remember the default login ID is admin and the password is Password or admin. Lets hope this helps
