Hi,have a problem with my 136 chain saw.It cutout with no spark, have checked out cutout switch, plug,it seems to point to the ht coil. husqvarna model 136 thankyou

This checks everything Robert, a shorted wire or defective switch is much less expensive than the coil. I also recommend a new plug for the same reason. The IPL I referenced said pn 530 03 91-43; widely available about $40 and shipping. Try your local Husky dealer (no shipping).

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

Ignition module gap
Place a business or index card between the fly wheel and coil, rotate until the magnetic attraction pulls everything tight together. Tighten the coil screws, rotate the flywheel until the attraction eases and remove the card. Ensure nothing contacts when flywheel is rotated.

How do you loosen the chain on a chainsaw husqvarna 136?

Hi there. On the outer bar cover near the motor you will find 2 nuts. Slightly loosen those two nuts. Then check around the these nuts or near where the bar attaches to the powerrhead at the front of the saw. You should find an adjustment screw of some sort, which will be the chain tensioning screw (which moves the bar forward/back depending on which way it is turned). This has the effect of either tightening or loosening the chain, so turn this screw noting whether the chain is tightening or becoming loose.

You must slightly undo those 2 main nuts on the side of the chain/bar cover first or the bar will not move and the chain cannot be loosened.

Husqvarna 136 chain brake handle spring.

You can get an IPL here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
I don't think this has the detail you need.
If it were me I'd visit my friendly neighborhood Husky chainsaw seller (not Big Box Store) and ask to look at the clutch cover with the brake installed (take a camera). I'd probably ask for a quote for their repair too. HTH
Lou
Your model is no longer sold. The seller will know what model replaced it and may be willing to explain the repair procedure for your saw you. Take the cover and loose parts with you.
