Thanks for the response, now follow these simple instructions:

Remove all the cartridges, clean their contacts (copper dotted interfaces) using a piece of cotton dipped alcohol or acetone or spirit. Also clean the contacts on printer. (don't touch the print head while doing this)

Turn off the printer, disconnect/unplug all the cables including the power cord, now open the scanning unit and clean the components like carriage, paper passage, etc.. Also clean the ADF passage using cotton bud (like ear-bud), now push in a thick paper like, photo paper or chart paper, do this several times. After everything's cleaned and dried, reinstall them and boot again. Power on only with the Power Button and keep pressing the Cancel button while it boots up.

If the message still shows, then again push in the paper through the ADF passage, do this again several times. If there's no changes or no improvement, you better disassemble the machine and check the adf passage for broken piece of paper or any foreign particles.

It's also possible that there actual jam/paper inside the passage (which you can't see from outside), in that case, you need the open it apart and remove it. When a piece of paper or any foreign particles stuck on the sensor unit, this happens.

But I do hope that it's not this much complex and wish you could fix it this way. If you can't fix it with this, let me know with more details.

Note: As long as the printer shows any error, you'll not be able to do anything with it, maybe paper jam, cartridge jam, carriage jam, etc..etc..

    Good luck.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

PIXMA MX330 Error message "Document in

Hello,
The sensor may be dirty even if it looks like there is no paper jam. Take a bottle of compressed air and give it a once over. Make sure you don't shake or tip the compressed air as you don't want to fast freeze anything.
If this does nothing, you probably have a failed sensor which will need replacing.

I have canon 320 MX, and I recived all the time a messege - document in the ADF, I press OK , then I recive a second messege - close the feeder cover and eject the document.NO documents are in the printer...

Hi!
look more closely on the ADF section, if there is no paper remains then you must need to check if the paper feed sensor is not press down or stuck. This sensor, a small plastic latch slide is responsible for detecting load paper in the ADF section. Check if there is something that keeping it stuck in that position. You will need to open the cover of the ADF section to do this.

Hope it works.

Canon Imageclass D880 automatic document feeder problems

Hi,

Clean the ADF rollers and pad with alcohol.

Check to see if your ADF has done over 90 000 copies and if it has, change the ADF pick up assembly only.

Good Luck
