Question about Garmin GPS
Hello. Carefully lift off the thin frame around the screen using your finger nail to gently pry it up. Under that frame you will see a reset button. Push that button and you will reset the device. Generally this will solve the problem. If it does, great. If not, your only choice is to send it in to Garmin for a repair or replace it. J.

Its possible that any operating system corruption. The software files on the GPS is corrupt. Do a firmware update and problem will be solved.
To update the software, connect your satnav to your computer, download and install webupdater from www8.garmin.com/support if you haven't already done so. When it's installed it will search for updates. Follow the guide.
