I would reset the Q1 first, to do that with the device on press the vol -/+ and MFB all at the EXACT same time. Ensure the buttons are not held simply clicked all at once like a mouse to a computer. When you get a consistent rapid flash the device has been reset and will automatically go into pair mode. When this happens go to your phones bluetooth menu and search/scan for devices, select the Q1 when it shows up and enter the pin code 0000 if prompted. In the pairing profile it will say BlueAnt Q1 v.....something. That is the firmware the device has on it, if it is anything other than 8.21 go to www.myblueant.com, select support and firmware updates and download the most recent firmware for the device (must be done on a 32 bit windows PC)

How to fix not working touchscreen? Do i have to replace it?

The Samsung Q1 is a hybrid, ultra-mobile, touch-screen device that is basically a very small tablet PC. It features a 7-inch screen, weighs a mere 1.7 lbs., features a Windows operating system, doesn't have a built-in keyboard, and comes in a variety of configurations. The Samsung Q1 doesn't offer outstanding battery life, but you can make some moves to boost your computing time.

Dim the Screen

Dim the screen brightness. Four programmable application-launch buttons occupy the right edge of the Q1. One of these, the menu button, calls up frequently-used controls, including screen brightness. Reduce the screen brightness as much as you can, as it's one of the best ways to extend battery life.
Close Power-hogging Apps

Close applications and browser windows when you're done with them. Too many open programs drain the battery. Beware power-hogging apps. Watching a video or listening to music on your Q1 drains your battery life much faster than just using Microsoft Word or checking email. Turn off the Wi-fi networking when not in use. The built-in Wi-fi searches for a network when you're not connected, which drains battery life.

Properly Caring for and Feeding a Battery

Unplug the Samsung Q1 after the battery is fully charged. Leaving your Q1 plugged in 24/7 leads to some discharge from the battery. Consider buying a bigger battery. A 3-cell battery comes with most configurations of the Q1, but you can also buy a 6-cell battery to double the battery life.

Room Temperature is Best

Don't expose the Q1 to harsh conditions. Keeping the device in a blazing hot car in direct sunlight harms your battery life. If you use your Q1 in conditions above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, you can permanently damage the battery. Cold conditions don't harm the battery in the same way, but if you leave the Q1 in the cold, let it warm to room temperature before you use it.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

How to connect my Q1 to iphone

With the device on press the MFB and when it says say a command say pair me. Then go to settings/general/bluetooth on the iphone and make sure bluetooth is on. The Q1 will show up click it and wait, the iphone will take care of the rest. (remember you won't be able to voice dial unless you have the iphone 3gs or iphone4.

Wont connect to iphone

Try resetting the device, with the Q1 on press the vol -/+ and the MFB all at the exact same time. When you get a consistent rapid flash the device has been reset and will go automatically into pair mode. Then go to settings/general/bluetooth and select the Q1 when it comes up. If it does not come up then power cycle your iphone and go back to the bluetooth menu.

I dropped my q1 and the battery fell out. I tryed to restart, but now I just get a gray screen. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Assuming that your battery is making proper contact with the Q1 battery terminals, this problem suggests that your hard disk drive has been disturbed from the shock the system received when it was dropped. You may have lost all the data in your Q1. You may have to reinstall the system.

Samsung YPQ1

I had the exact same problem with my Windows XP when trying to interface with my new Samsung YP-Q1 16GB. Hey, it took a bit of Forum searching but it can be done.

Load your Emodio software from the supplied CD.
Download Windows Media Player 10 or above (important)
Plug in your MP3 Player to USB port (hopefully your USB ports are USB2.0 otherwise you'll need to see if you can upgrade their drivers to make them USB2)
If, as with mine, its still not appearing as a portable device in Windows Media Player or EMODIO
then

Go to Control Panel. (I prefer Classic view where you can immediately see Add Hardware Wizard)
Run Add Hardware Wizard. searches for new Hardware. Prompts for is Hardware connected?)
Look at list of devices Q1 should appear as yellow Q1?
Highlight Q1 and continue.
Prompted for dowload of MTP file.
Install file.

Hey presto....

Worked for me anyway although Emodio software still had problems writing to Q1, Windows Media Player had no such problem.
