Wireless mouse mmmmyyy mouse is about three years old no problems until now. It highlights everything, the pointer is a black circle with line thru it andthe left button doesn't go down all the way and it is basically unuseable. I have tried to send this now for the thrid time. Please advise. Thank you Karen

A circle with a line going through it takes the place of my cursor on my computer?

Firstly, go to

Control Panel
Find Mouse
Click Pointers along the top

Ensure that your default pointer is the normal mouse, like so:


If not, press "Use Default" and it should reset the mouse pointer to normal.

If it looks like the mouse pointer is supposed to be normal in this screen, let me know and we'll see if there's something else wrong.

You windows do not recognize that you have a mouse installed. Check the device manager in windows thru your control panel option and see if the mouse device is showing.Apparently the software you are using for the mouse is outdated.for the windows of your computer.or corrupt..

Hello, Try changing the cursor's color with these detailed instructions:

No. Mouse actions Keyboard actions 1 To open the Ease of Access Center, select:
  • Start.
  • Control Panel.
  • Ease of Access.
  • Ease of Access Center.
To open the Ease of Access Center, press:
  • Windows logo key winkey.gif+U.
2 Under Explore all settings, select:
  • Make the mouse easier to use.
Under Explore all settings, select:
  • Make the mouse easier to use by pressing TAB, then ENTER.
3 Under Mouse pointers:
  • Select a cursor and pointer combination.
  • Select Save.
Under Mouse pointers, select a cursor/pointer combination by pressing:
  • ALT+R for Regular White
  • ALT+U for Regular Black
  • ALT+G for Regular Inverting
  • ALT+L for Large White
  • ALT+B for Large Black

MS Wireless IntelliMouse 2.0 pointer direction reversed (up/down)

Go into the control panel and click on the mouse icon and see if you can change to settings back to normal.

If not then check under your start menu and see if the intellimouse software is installed there and go into it to change the settings from there.

There's also a connect button on the USB connector. Plug the connector in and press the connect button underneath until the light flashes. Release the button and click the connect button on the mouse until the USB light is steady.
