Question about Euro-Pro Shark 60 - 384

1 Answer

My needle does not pick up the bobbin thread. I double checked that I threaded the needle correctly and the bobbin seems to be in the right position. The needle doesn't look like it's making contact with the bobbin.

Make sure that you have the needle's flat side facing the rear of the machine, or else it will never grab the thread. Also, make sure you hold the top thread in your left hand until it grabs the thread and you pull the bobbin thread up

Put in a new needle and make sure that it is inserted with the flat side facing the rear of the machine. Hold your top thread with your left hand as you lower the needle by the handwheel (making sure you turn the handwheel towards you, never turn it away from you) then when it makes the loop around the bobbin, pull up the top thread.,

Thank you both for the suggestions. However, I've tried the very things that you suggest and the bobbin does not pick up. I have already arranged for the machine to be looked at by a professional. Again, thanks for trying to help me solve them problem.

My brother innovis machine has a problem. Top thread frays and breaks, not not seem to be picking up bobbin thread properly. I have changed the needle tried a previous bobbin.

Be sure to install a brand new needle--check that the needle eye is the correct size for the thread you are using--a small needle eye will shred heavy thread. It may also help to remove the top thread from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Try different thread--AVOID old or bargain bin thread. Check that the upper tension is not too tight.

If the top does not pick up the bobbin thread, the machine may be out of time.

Otherwise, there may be a burr or snag somewhere along the thread path that is catching and fraying the thread. Sometimes there is a snag in the bobbin area (possibly the needle plate or hook) that is rubbing the thread.

My upper thread wont pick up the bobbin thread suddenly. How do I fix that problem?

Install a brand new needle. A bent/dull/damaged needle sometimes will not pick up bobbin thread.

Check that the needle is installed facing the correct direction.

Also check that the bobbin is wound smoothly, the bobbin is turning the correct direction in the bobbin case, and the bobbin tension is threaded correctly.

If it still will not pick up the bobbin thread, there is most likely a timing issue, ie the needle is arriving at the wrong time to intercept the bobbin thread. Search the internet for sewing machine timing discussions or take it for service.

How to fix time hook on special adition XL5700 the needle not picking up the bobbin thread

CHECK THESE FIRST::
NEW NEEDLE.
MAKE SURE NEEDLE IS INSERTED THE RIGHT DIRECTION. LOOK AT YOUR INSTRUCTION BOOK.
MAKE SURE INSERTED IS TOTALLY INSERTED.
CHECK TO SEE IF THE BOBBIN THREAD IS STUCK. ALSO, ENOUGH LENGTH OF BOBBIN LENGTH EXTENDED TO ALLOW THE NEEDLE TO PULL IT UPWARDS.
MAKE SURE THE BOBBIN THREAD IS INSERTED THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND SET WITH CORRECT TENSION.
CHECK TOP NEEDLE TENSION TO INSURE THERE IS TENSION ENOUGH TO PULL THE BOBBIN THREAD ABOVE THE THROAT.
IF THESE DON'T WORK YOU MAY NEED TO GO TO YOUR LOCAL REPLAIRMAN.

I can't seem to get the bobbin holder in there correctly to get the machine to sew properly.

While I know it can only go in 1 of two ways, maybe the problem isn't in how the bobbin is in, maybe it is the route of the thread.
My assumption is you don't seem to pick up the bobbin thread and it bunches. If so the carefully follow the thread to needle you may have by passed the place you put that thread so it maintains tension.
Check that carefully, sometimes that gets overlooked.

Make sure you are threaded correctly. Also be sure that your bobbin is sitting in the casing correctly. If the timing is right and the hook is catching, the thread may not be pulling through correctly. Clean your machine as well. Make sure your tension spring is clean and doesn't need to be tuned up.

Threaded correctly bobbin threaded and inserted correctly...threead will not pick up and pull throughbobbin thread

Have you got the needle in the right way and is it put in all the way up the holder? Some needles are longer than others and this can also cause that problem. The bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the holder.

The underneath threat doesn't come up

double check the needle hasn't moved as if its not in the correct position it will not go low enough to pick up the bobbin thread.
Make sure you have threaded top properly and the bobbin in put in the right way, each machine has its own direction the bobbin thread should come out ( eg clockwise)

Bobbin thread won't "pick up" right

Check that you have the needle inserted properly i.e if the needle shank has a flat side make sure you have it inserted per your instruction book ... also make sure the needle is inserted all the way. Also double check that you are using the correct needle type.
