SOURCE: RCA F32650 32'' TV Just stopped working and 3 months after warranty 3-yr warranty expired

This is a very common problem with RCA tV sets. But unfortanatly, RCA is no longer made in this country or even owned by RCA anymore. They are a Canadian company called Thompson Corp and could not give two hoots about any problems with TV sets sold here in america. I say this from experience and try to contact them and file a complaint. ther customer service is rude and basicly calls us idiots! Alot of class action suits are pending or have been dropped as for the amount of sets they company have sold,They have attorneys working for them and delaying the cases. It is really the fault of the US Judges that are total morons about these things and try to go by un written laws. They dont have a clue as most of the US goverment does not. Your problem is not a power supply problem, But a high voltage transformer and a horizontal output transistor, and the reason why the estimate was so high, is because the tranformer is no longer available. Thats why the estimate is so high. Because who in there right mind would spend so much on a set as this. You can buy a 32" RCA(BUT I WOULD NOT BUY TRASH)At Wally World for less the $250.00 bucks! I no longer accept RCA TVs in for repair as replacement parts are so much money and im not proud to say I work on RCA TV sets. Total garbage sets!!

SOURCE: Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator stopping

Ok this is a huge issue on many refrigerators of all brands that are using a tecumseh compressor. Let me guess that you hear a buzzing for a few secs then a click. And then 15mins or so later compressor wont start for hours... sometimes even a whole day. Ive gone into detail the whole cycling senario in some early posts in my profile. This explains why you said it stopped cooling. Finally it starts. Only to stop again soon. I cant believe that a tech would tell you he cant check it. All he would have had to do is cycle the unit several times and he would have seen ,most likely, the issue. Inexperience is all that is. But anyhow make sure you get that compressor replaced while its still inder warranty. Dont take no for an answer or youll be stuck with a large bill. Let me know if If i was accurate here thanks.......

As an appliance tech myself, it sounds like the relays have gone bad, the burning smell or sometimes a hmmmm then a click sound can be heard when the relays are out. The appliance place that you took your appliance to should have been able to fix it pretty quick. Questions? Visit my web site at (the houston link has more info).. ALSO, all who read this and visit my website ARE more than welcome to CALL me if you have questions. We service appliances mainly in the houston area.

SOURCE: Kenmore Gas wall oven flashes F7 Code

Hi Indy2008,
You can find my solution to the most common cause of the F7 problem at the following link:

I have helped over 1600 folks solve the F7 problem. The problem is usually with the touchpanel and not the ERC. My fix tells how to determine which part is faulty. Hopefully you will not need to purchase a new touchpanel, however, if you do, an internet search will lead you to lower cost sources.

Please let me know if my fix works for you. You can email me at:

SOURCE: Sanyo punctured evaporator

It isn't always more costly to repair provided that the system isn't contaminated by water and air entering it at the time the evaporator was punctured. Unfortunately it is in most cases. However if you can get the parts cheaply enough and your tech's labor rate isn't exceedingly high in a worst case scenario you should expect a job of this magnitude to approach and even cross half the cost of a new refrigerator. That's the point at which most people decide not to repair it. My suggestion would be to see any repair companies might want to buy it for parts or donate it to a local trade school

Kenmore refrigerator, model #60267990, serial # EJ5036206, water leaking from the freezer into the fridge on shelves into veggie bins, drain hole freezes up, defrosted it about 2 months ago, and has...

a plugged or frozen drain is a common problem that occurs from time to time in just about all refrigs. Folllow theses directions and it will probably not occur again for 2-3 years.

  • Unplug refrigerator
  • unload food from freezer
  • remove icemaker if present (there are 3 screws remove the one on the bottom and loosen the 2 on top of icemaker then lift it off the 2 screws unplug from wiring harness)
  • remove 2 screws holding rear cover in place
  • move cover to the side or remove from unit altogether
  • defrost any and all ice from bottom of freezer and aluminum drain pan that is now exposed
  • flush drain hole that you will see once ice is cleared with warm water. (sometimes I use a large syringe or turkey baster to forcefully flush hot water thru the drain tube)
  • reassemble in reverse order

FRT221RSH refrigerator warm...freezer cold...some frost on back of freezer wall, i popped off the small cover on the inside back wall of the freezer and the fan there is running...i vacuumed a little dust...

If you remove the entire back panel of the freezer section there is a evaporator (aluminum grill looks like a car radiator, contains r-134a, do not puncture or unit is ruined) Some frost on back freezer wall, means probably this entire grill is encased in frost, not allowing any air flow, which is how the entire refrigerator section is cooled, by air flow) The frost build up has to be removed,(got a hair dryer) you can unplug it for a couple of hours with the door open, overnight is better, this would fix the problem for a couple of weeks....Your automatic defrost is not working, there are three parts- the timer or control board, a heating element, and a bi-metal thermostat(often the problem)

You popped off the cover for the ice maker, you need to defrost the whole freezer section behind the back panel. Freezer cold means your compressor and freon are fine, you have a defrost problem with ice build up restricting air flow. A normal automatic defrost runs every 8 hours, three times a day, rule of thumb.....Sounds like you have a couple of weeks built up...........
hope this helps

Defrost unit asap and then turn on. Remove all ice from evaporator and dry off.
If your defrost heater is not working ice will build up and the refrigerator will not cool properly. Just make sure that when you turn the unit on the compressor is running. If not then you might need a start relay/capacitor. Check this site for parts Sears Online In Store Shopping Appliances Clothing More

Defrosting unit might solve it, it sounds like your drain pan under your evaporator and the defrost element is not allowing any water to drain down to the pan on the bottom. Assuming this is a top mount freezer, remove the back panel and clean out the pan below the aluminum evaporator(the aluminum evaporator is on the back wall, looks like a radiator kind of, holds freon, do not puncture this) What you have to clean out is all the ice build up, or let it melt overnight, and pour some water down the little hole it the center to make sure it is open(hot water)

If you punctured the aluminum tubing or the freezer aluminum evaporator , it cannot be repaired . If the puncture is in the copper tubing , only silver solder will fix . On the compressor , you will see a short piece of tubing , capped off . This is where the access fitting was . A good technician will ALWAYS remove the access valve , due to possible refrigerant leak . After removing the end of the tube , silver solder another valve into the tubing . Evacuate the system , recharge with correct amount of refrigerant , crimp the tubing at the access valve and remove the access valve . Re-solder the end of the short tubing , and it's done .

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

Freezer is not cooling properly

Look inside the fresh food section behind and inside the control panel for a defrost timer and circuit board. Let me know when and what you find. Please unplug first, Thanks, Sea Breeze
E. Cold Control & Defrost Timer/Automatic Defrost
These parts can produce a snapping or clicking sound
when turning the refrigerator on and off. The timer also
produces sounds similar to an electric clock.
