Here's an excerpt from gardenbanter.co,uk:
Make sure the gas is fresh old gas wont burn and unit wont run, rule of thumbs if gas is over 30 days old from when you bought it get new gas and start over. if you do have old gas drain it from unit and re try. you may be lucky enough to get it going with out taking the carb apart.

Check to make sure it's not on this recall list:
http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10037.html
Other than that, get a refund or replacement, if still under warranty. It simply shouldn't have any problems, unless the choke isn't set right- double check that.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps.

I have a brand new yard broom 2 (homelite) and it fires but won't start as though the timing is off. Could this be the issue? It hits now and then but will not run.

there is no timing on a single cylinder engine. it could be old gas, try spraying new gas into air intake until it runs on it's own

My homelite yardbroom 2 won't start. Maybe wrong gas/oil mix

Hi
If you remove the fuel you believe to be the mixture out of the fuel tank and refuel with the correct mixture then remove the air filter. Put a few drops of the correct mixture in to the intake it should start. it may take a few times of repetting putting the fuel in to the intake, but eventually it will clean out the bad fuel and run good.Remember to replace the air filter!

Homelite leaf blower bogs down.

I don't mean to over simplify this, but are you using fresh gas? Gas blowers are extremely ticky when it comes to gas. They like it SUPER fresh. And while the gas and oil mixture should be right, it can be off a little bit and still run. Try draining all of the gas out, and then filling up with fresh mix. This is ALWAYS my first step with gas blowers, and it fixes the problem 75% of the time. Also make sure your spark plug is clean. If you are not sure, a new plug couldn't hurt.
Hope this helps!!
