The cursur jumps all over the place when I type in lenovo e530

Make sure you disable or turn off the touchpad when you are typing. You are accidentally hitting the touchpad when typin that causes your cursor to be erratic. I suggest to plug in a mouse and disable the touchpad.

While typing a story, the curser will jump backwards, and if I don;t realise it, I am typing between a previous word. Sometimes the cursur disappears from the page completely, and I have to use the mouse...

What's happening is that your finger(s) are touching/dragging across the laptop's TouchPad
while you're typing,
and thus the cursor's position in the document is being randomly reset/repositioned
while you're typing.
Solution: disable your Laptop's TouchPad, and use a mouse for cursor control.
Solution: tape a 3x5 index card over the Touchpad while you're typing.
Solution: type on a computer with a real keyboard, not the chiclet-type keyboard you (and I) are using.

are you using a mouse or a touch pad?
if using a mouse, try to use a mouse pad. if using a touch pad, try to reinstall the drivers you probably need to contact ASUS tech support

I would like to disable the touch pad or make it not as sensitive. When I am typing it moves the cursur around. Thanks

Really just go into your soft and find out where you can configure this sensitivity issue, most os,s have this configuration ability.on mine you go into"settings" then "personalization" but yours will be different--Good luck!

My cursur is skipping around while I am typing...particularly after I type a t

If you are using a laptop you should check if your thumb accidentally taps the cursor board while you are typing this is a common complaint most people have.
If after checking this it is not the problem then try to restore your PC to a previously created restore point as the driver for your pointing device might need to be updated.

Cursor jumps around

Does the cursor jump around when your hands are nowhere near the touchpad? The touchpads are heat and pressure sensitive. I personally have very warm (and sometimes sweaty) hands. I have this problem often when working on laptops. If I hover my hands over the pad, it causes the mouse to move. I've had to take a business card, put tape on one side of it, and use it as a flip-cover for the touchpad on most of my laptops. If the cursor moves around when you're nowhere near the laptop, then you may want to try disabling the pointing stick (if it has one). I've had several clients with laptops where the pointing stick mouse control go crazy and move and click on things.

check to make sure insert is on, and check computer settings, maybe the word processing program settings too.
